MK Fireworks Dessert Parties - Cancellations?

I guess we decided too late that we really want to get reservations for Garden Viewing of the Fireworks Dessert Party in the Magic Kingdom for our November trip. I've only been able to find tickets for part of our party, despite checking multiple times a day, and even for different nights (we'll be going to MK for 2 nights of our trip).

Has anyone had any luck getting tickets closer to the event? Or do people generally not cancel reservations for this like they do for dining?

I've had tons of luck with Touring Plans for dining reservation notifications, but they don't offer it for events.

So far this year the Garden Viewing version has had some pretty decent availability even close to the day of. Although I think the abundance of MK parties in the fall season is pushing crowds to the dessert parties on non-party nights, so you’re seeing more full/sold out dessert parties. Generally speaking.

The cancellation period for this event is 5 days, so I’d be checking around that point. I’d also keep checking along the way... people change plans all the time. The capacity for the Plaza Garden is pretty big so you have a big pool of people that could be changing plans at any given moment.

Thanks so much! Very true with the holiday season being so full of party nights/shortened park hours. I'll keep looking.

Certainly keep looking - I don't think as many people cancel because they charge the full fee at reservation time. If nothing opens up, Pirates and Pals firework cruise is great. You can't see all of the projections but you can see some from out on the water, plus you get 3 characters. We have done P&P and the Happily Ever After Dessert party and I was pleased with both. Definitely keep looking, especially around the 5-day mark. I had to switch my date from a Monday to Wednesday and originally there was no availability. But about 1-1.5 months out, someone cancelled and we were able to get into the garden viewing.

I really liked the HEA dessert party. It felt like a nice relaxing atmosphere and desserts were pretty good. The viewing spot was amazing and it was wonderful to relax in a area with our feet up (we were 2 people at a table with 4 seats) and then walk over about 5-10 minutes before the show and avoid the chaos around the hub. I'd recommend going for the back of the area, because you can rest against the back railing. People usually crowd up in the front so you end up getting a gap without people in front of you!
