MK Firework Dessert Party

I was able to schedule the dessert party, but it is during MNSSHP. I was told by the CM that the Wishes display is different during MNSSHP than what is normally shown on regular nights. Anyone know if this is true and what the differences are? Thanks so much!!

Love the Halloween wishes! My favorite of all the fireworks. The music is different and the fireworks are different. Maybe someone has a link to a video, or a music file. The music is reworked popular music, and also from the films it self. Focusing on the villians. The Nightmare before Christmas set is really cool.

By the way, the CM did tell you that you needed MNSSHP tickets to get in right?

Thank you guys so much for the info! Reggie--yes the CM told me about the tickets for MNSSHP. I don't have them yet. Do you think I can get those without much trouble? I have never been to MNSSHP--is it worth it? I have heard some good things about it......Thanks for any info you have--I really appreciate it!!

The parade is awesome, as are the fireworks. You can usually get tickets until quite close to the date, apart from Halloween itself, that does sell out in advance.

Not knowing what dates you'll be there, I would buy your tickets soon. Buying them now or in 2 weeks it is the same price but chances of it being sold out is more if you wait.

online ADRs is showing avail for 2 for Sun Sep 20 at 8:30...

. I tried for range of dates from 17 to 21 (but we definitely can't go on a Sunday...) for times from 8:00, 8:15, 8:30 and 8:45......this is the only choice that came up.

(Didn't think you'd be able to book this on line, but I went most of the way thru the process--up to the point you need to put in your personal info.)

How did you get to do this online? Where do you go to start? :confused3

Thanks! :)

We went on Friday night. The dessert's were great but there was no lights on.

I just got off the phone. I tried for reservations on 4 different dates for a party of 2 and all were booked. Even the night of MNSSHP. :headache:

We went to the Dessert Party on Monday the 17th of Aug. I was really unsure about keeping the ressie, as the week before we left it was getting not so good reviews. Well, we kept the ressie, and I am so glad we did!!

We got there 15 minutes early and had to wait in a short line to be checked in. They give you a wristband in case you need to leave to use the restrooms.

The buffet was in full swing when we got in. The CM brought us to our reserved table with our name on it, and we went right up to the buffet. The desserts were varied and plentiful, although things that got depleted were often replaced by different things, so, for example, when the choc. covered strawberries ran out, there were not any more, but other things were brought out to replace them. The CMs were working as quickly as they could to get things out, but there were generally 2-3 empty plates of desserts at the buffet waiting to be replaced. Even with this though, there was PLENTY for everyone! We left stuffed!

There was also plenty of cold drinks and ice.

We were able to see the top of the Spectro parade floats, but not the whole parade, which was fine because we were busy eating anyway.

There was a photopass photographer, and we got some great nighttime pictures taken.

When Wishes started everyone went to the rail, and there was plenty of room. Tinkerbell flew directly over, which was really cool. She was very close. It was a great view of the fireworks, although off to the side slightly.

I thought it was well worth what we paid to have some great desserts and cold drinks and be able to relax at chairs and tables to wait to see the fireworks.

I'm so glad I didn't cancel our ressie!!

You can't book the Wishes Dessert Party online. You have to call. The poster that you quoted was looking at a Buffet Dinner.

The Dessert Party starts an hour before Wishes. It appears that the times to check in are staggard a bit.

Is anyone going on November 1st? I haven't seen anyone but my own post mention going on that date, which the cast member said was the last night of the extension. We already had tix to MNSSHP party for the same night. Will I really have the whole dessert buffet to myself??
(wishful thinking, heehe) :dance3:

I can't find any avaiability my whole week (including our mnsshp night) for our party of 2. My latest cm told me this is one of the few things that they hold tables for walk ups. Anyone ever attended as a walk up and what time did you get there?

This ticket must be paid for in advance. So, if the event is sold out.....I seriously doubt you would have much success as a walk up. There is a 24 hour cancellation period. I think, you would have better luck going this route.

I got 10/19. It's EMH until 1 AM, so I'll have plenty of time to walk off those calories-a few of them anyway. ;)

We'll be there that night too! We have a reservation for 8:15. :thumbsup2

I think the point of saving tables for walk ups is that they don't sell them in advance so the 24 hour cancellation policy wouldn't apply to these tables since they are nit available to book in advance on their system.

That being said, does anyone have experience with walk ups?

Just a quick reply - got home late last night and are still trying to find the house, laundry, etc! :rotfl:

We did the party on Friday as well and thought it was well worth it. I do have pictures, but they're not on the computer yet, and really, not that good with my cheap camera. I've seen a lot of pics and everything was as described. We probably would have enjoyed it more if we hadn't had 'Ohana dinner right beforehand, but still managed to eat our share of desserts!

We had a nice table that we shared with another TGM'er, right in the first row. We could have easily sat at our table for Wishes, but opted to stand at the rail. There was plenty of room and I don't think anyone felt crowded or had trouble finding a space. The tables were quite tight but they appeared to be fixed so that's just how they normally are. I never saw any shortages of desserts - yes, there were sometimes gaps, but they seemed to be filled quickly with a new tray.

We went primarily to meet others and there were many parties of TGM and DIS'ers. For anyone else there, my son was the one in his DIS shirt handing out small flashlights and glow light bracelets to all the kids! I ended up just sitting and socializing and missed meeting a lot of people. There was plenty of ice and the drinks were cold and the snacks were all good and cold. Liked the mousse desserts and the fruit (which seemed refreshing in the heat). Sorry, but all of us at our table thought the Mango Shooters were HORRIBLE! They looked so good but were way too bitter for us.

Check in only took a couple minutes - maybe 10 people in line ahead of us when we got there around 8:05 for our 8:15 time. Just long enough for them to check the list and put on wristbands. Food was all ready and there were never lines at the buffet that I saw. The castle was beautiful there and it was a lot of fun. With two of us I think it was definitely worth it and a great time. I probably wouldn't do it again, especially with a family of 5 and the new, higher cost, but we wouldn't normally do Wishes at all since we're definitely early to bed, early to the parks folks! If you plan to do it anyways, it's much better than sitting on the curb for an hour and the view can't be beat and the food is just the added bonus!

I'll be glad to answer any specific questions!

I'll ask my son to be sure but I didn't notice it. However, neither of us are milk drinkers! I know they had apple juice (which I hadn't read), lemonade, and water, along with tea and coffee and things like that. I'll let you know if he says he saw it. I'm just thinking it was SO hot out that it would have been hard to keep cold. Everything else you could just add ice to.

Thanks!

Got one more question :)
Do they have half and half (real stuff, not powdered) for the coffee? Thanks again :)
