MK/Fantasyland “Early Morning Magic” (EMM) FAQ & Discussion

What time do ppl recommend getting to line near tomorrowland to wait for rd and go to space mtn? And we wait by the tea cups?

Head over to Rays like you're going have breakfast and then walk right over to SM at opening. Its off that they hold people at the Teacups when breakfast at Rays is on the other side.

Sorry when i said by tea cups, i see that sounds vague and off. To be more specific, when you are leaving FL passing the tea cups and heading into TL is where the rope is located, just before speedway. And i would recommend getting there around 850 am, no later than 855 am, to be in front of the pack. Hope that helps

So now that I decided to keep my 8/28-9/3 reservation I decided best way to handle crowds and get into park is the EMM and DAH and of course neither is available for my dates!!! Did book MNSSHP which I guess will sell out for these dates for the first time ever!
Well I sure am glad I booked EMM when I did. It sold out like the next day apparently. Wow. There is a possibility we won't make the trip. If thats the case, I'll be cancelling 4 for 9/1. But I have no idea when we will make the final decision.

Well I'm keeping my fingers crossed that someone cancels I'm checking many times a day!!!

My 180 days is coming up, so I’ve been closely following the date releases for this event, now in September.
The date 180 days from today- 9/8- turned blue, but never showed any availability from the moment it turned blue until now. A call to a Disney confirmed they aren’t yet opening up any availability for this date (and haven’t sold any tickets for it), even though the date lit up. I was also told availability is possibly being held off due to the SWGE opening and potential changes. I don’t know if that means a price increase, change in the event, or discontinuing it altogether.
I’m so discouraged. So much has changed with our supposedly quiet September trip, and our trip plans have accordingly changed quite a bit. If we can’t get EMM to help us navigate the crowds, maybe we should give up on the trip :sad2:.

When did it turn blue? It usually takes a day or 2 before you can book.

That’s interesting! 9/8 turned blue early this morning. Judging from other posters on this thread, they were able to book 9/1 and 9/3, but they said the dates sold out within a day after they opened.

Oh my I thought it was only me that was thinking this! I was ready to book this event for today as soon as it opened but it didn’t open any reservations for it. I really hope this isn’t the case, with TSL EMM getting binned off too what a different trip this is going to be!

I’m right there with you (only hopefully booking several days from today). Fingers crossed the event continues on for September dates!

I just booked for August 25, and can't wait! I had a pre park opening BOG, didn't know about EMM, but after some more reading, this is going to be great! Kiddo is super excited to get ride SDMT a few times, and finally Peter Pan! One of the few rides we've never been on. Also looking forward to rope dropping Space and then using fast passes for whatever else we want that morning, and an afternoon by the pool :)

We almost cancelled today-after two days at Universal, my family was tired and cranky about getting up. Decided to keep it, though, and am mostly glad we did tHought not sure it was really worth the money. If we were here for longer than five days or at a less busy time I’d skip it.

Caught bus at Boardwalk at about 6:55. The ap wasn’t working for bus times to MK so we just headed down from the room and waited. We were fairly close to the front of the line at 7:14 or so, but they held the lime until 7:45 which was annoying-you definitely lose some time. We went straight to PP following advice on this thread, then small world. Oddly, only seven of us in line-two parties-and they put us all on the same boat with empty boats on both sides. After that, did mine train at abou 8:20. Lines were brief-ride broke down while we were on it for 5-10 minutes so line had stacked up when we got off. Did Pooh and Mermaid then came back for one more ride right before 9-10 minute wait to get in and 105 minutes by the time we got off. We were heading to AK for our regularly scheduled day and so just had breakfast and swam like salmon upstream to get out of the park.

Has anyone went for BTMR right at 9:00 instead of SM?

I did back in September. Easy peasy. We plan to do it again in July. My only issue is that it's a bit further for breakfast than it used to be. Not sure we'll have time for much more than one ride on Thunder.

We went this morning and I have to say, it SUCKED for us. We've done this event close to ten times, and this is the first time I felt it was bordering on a waste of money.

We arrived at about 7:35 and noticed that there was an honour system for the wristbands...I think it was like that last time as well, but I wonder if people who weren't supposed to have wristbands ended up with them, based on the crowds we saw (more on that shortly).

We were let in and hoofed it to teacups (DS has to start with that those every time...don't judge ;) ). After that, we went over to 7D and saw...a posted 30-minute wait! WHAT??? They were sending people through the standby line, which I've never seen. We decided to go to Pooh- which was closed. Okay, on to PP. They ran us through the standby line there as well, never had this before there either. At well over a dollar a minute, that is a total waste of our time when we could have just gotten onto the ride using the FP line as usual.

After PP, we headed back to Pooh, which was up. Standby line again meant that we lost more time. It was close to a ten-minute wait as well. For POOH! Not cool.

We went to Little Mermaid, which used the FP queue (finally!).

We waited until we saw the wait time for 7D go down to 15 and risked it. The wait was indeed 15 minutes. Keep in mind that we are used to getting between 7-10 rides on 7D during this event with waits no more than maybe 3-5 minutes each time, and this was crazy to see, not to mention very disappointing. They opened up the FP line for it around 8:45am and the line was backed up to well outside of the entrance to the cottage path. We decided not to waste more time waiting for 7D and went back to PP (still standby line there, for no apparent reason, as it was now almost a walk-on).

At rope drop, we went straight to Big Thunder and then HM after that, then bolted to breakfast. Cosmic Ray's was packed and we had to wait for a table to free up. They started taking away food a few minutes before 10 and somebody complained, so another CM put it back out (fruit and meats area).

Overall, this was a huge disappointment for us today. I'm not sure whether to email Guest Services about it or not, since I've been writing them quite a few "love notes" recently and don't want to seem like I am trying to extract something from them- we did ride some rides and did eat the food, so it wasn't 100% wasted money. However, the issue with sending people through the standby line for this event is a big deal to me and I am wondering whether to raise this issue with them.

I am not sure if we will book it again if this trend continues, which would suck, because it's been one of our favourites.

If this is what my experience ends up being, I would 100% be emailing guest services. Just my .02

I am expecting 2 rides PP, 2 rides Pooh, 4 rides 7DMT, and either a Princess meet or line up for SM..... Anything less honestly I don't see the value at $80/pp....

Agree and if I arrive to breakfast at 955 I expect all breakfast not stuff being put away

Glad it wasn’t just me a little disappointed this morning. I was definitely expecting more than 2 7D rides. We appreciated getting the chance to get most of FL done on this busy week, but prob not worth the money (we are Disneyland regulars so much of FL is familiar to us and some of it is better there).
