We always avoid MK on a Saturday, but we're going in August and the only EMH during the time we're going is at night. MK is open till 12. Do you think it's crazy to think about going and also do you think they might extend the hours. I'd probably plan on going if the park would be open later than 12. Thanks!

1. No it is not crazy. There's likely a second MSEP and once that is over, the park usually clears out pretty quick. Best time to be there. That is, if you are eligible for the EMH. If you are not, it's a bit up in the air but many times it does pay to be there late. If you are eligible then it's open until 2 am for you.

2. There's a possiblity they might extend but they are already open pretty late, plus EMH, so not a huge possibility.

The park closes at 10 that night, so since it's EMH, MK will be open till 12. We are staying on property.

I'll be doing it this Saturday. My flight is scheduled to land at 4:30, we're taking DME over to our hotel, checking in, and then it's off to MK. Of course, EMH are running until 3:00AM, so we'll actually have about 7 hours worth of park time. :-P In my (limited) experience, late night EMH at MK is a GREAT time to be in the park.

Night EMH hours at MK are amazing!!! We make sure to do them every trip. In May, we rode Dumbo and Barnstormer several times in a row each without getting off because there was no line. So much fun. Though now that I think about it, the May EMH were 11-1. I don't remember June - I think it was until 3! We were only able to do that because it was arrival day and we were on west coast time still.

In our experience, the headliners had long or longish lines still (though we go at more crowded times than August), but the smaller rides were mostly walk ons. We tend to do the big rides at rope drop and save the others for late night EMH. :)

Evening EMH at MK is great! We were there mid-December, but little to no lines and no crowds. There was still a line at 7DMT, but the wait times were only 20-30 mins. We did make sure to go back to the resort and rest for a couple of hours. Usually after the second MSEP, the crowds usually thins out. I don't suggest rope drop and late night EMH without a little rest in between.

MK evening EMH is honestly one of the best times to be there, if you can stay awake, that is! Odds are they won't extend park hours (at least the day of) on an EMH night, just from my experience with EMH and observing when they chose to extend. One thing about EMH to be aware of is that Princess Fairytale Hall will likely close half an hour before the park does (so if EMH is until 1, PFT closes at 12:30), so if you have little princesses wanting to meet Anna and Elsa, it's a great time, just don't arrive too late!

Any idea if Saturdays in July will be later than midnight?

I'd expect to see the posted summer hours at MK and DHS to be extended. 10pm and 8:30pm respectively is a little too early for these parks during peak season. I've been there in August when MK was open until as late as midnight, and DHS until 10pm. EMH nights would of course be later.

I've seen MK hours change a month prior to my late summer trips. On at least two occasions, this was on EMH nights. I don't see a 10pm Saturday closing with EMH until midnight holding. I'd expect to see at least one hour added. Possibly two.

I hope the hours extend That would be great. My DGD is 12, and I know she would love being at MK late!
