I would like to go to MK for dinner but it seems like the table service restaurants are slim pickins'. :confused3
I don't want a character meal so my choice is between tonys town square or the plaza. What would you recommend?

We loved Tony's. They have a great atmosphere (Lady and the Tramp) and nice selection on the menu. I loved my steak and my girls loved the pizza.

I'm not crazy about the Plaza's menu. It's burgers.

I think a lot of people walk past it without realizing it's a restaurant, so it's hardly ever crowded and the food is very good. We had probably been to the MK 10 times before we "saw it".

Now, it's our "go-to" restaurant for lunch/dinner at the MK, and we head out from there...

We must have gone to Tony's on a bad night if everyone else has had good experiences there. We went for dinner in December and had extremely slow service and our dinners were terrible. We all decided that it was our least favorite TS restaurant of the trip and it isn't on our list for this year.

We plan on dinner in one of the monorail resorts on a night we will be in MK.

Given those two choices, I'd have to go with Plaza, also. In more than 10 trips, the only REALLY bad Disney meal we've ever had was at Tony's last September. The food was just inedible - it was revolting - you couldn't pay us to return. It IS a beautiful restaurant, but the night we were there, they were SO busy, we could barely hear one another talk. It just wasn't a good experience AT ALL.

The Plaza may have mostly sandwiches and burgers, but at least they're GOOD! :)

We have Tony's on the list for the next trip. It's such a beautiful restaurant, and nothing beats being right on Main Street right before Wishes. :cloud9: I ate there once and had a bowl of pasta and it was delicious, very fresh (way better than the Mickey pasta at 50's Prime Time). That must have been.. lets see.. like in the year 2000. I checked out the menu this time and prefer it to CP & The Plaza. I just hope I don't have a bad experience! I have heard mixed reviews.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO to Tony's. It's been 2-3 yrs., but I'd rather eat anything over Tony's. I wanted to eat at the Plaza last Sept. but did not get the chance. Menu looks great. The food quality at TTS is the worst I've ever experienced at WDW. Location and decor is fine, but the food was not fit for a stray dog. :teacher:

We loved Tony's last year. The environment is nice and the food is good. Have not tried the Plaza so have no comment on it. :thumbsup2

Both are nice, it just depends on what you would like to eat. Tonys has a Lady and the Tramp theme going on. That is cute! Take a look at both of the menus on allears.net and make a choice from the menu. :thumbsup2 That might help in making your decision. :teeth:

Tony's!!! It is one of our "must do" restaurants on every trip. We have eaten there every year since 1999 and we have never had a bad meal or bad service. When Crystal Palace was refurbing and Tony's was the Character Meal, they went out of their way to get my 5 year old DS chicken parmesean, which was not on the kid's menu. We prefer to go to Tony's for dinner to get the pesto sauce; however, the panini sandwich and the asiago cheese pizza are wonderful at lunch time!! Your "choice" would be no choice, in our ADR's

THE PLAZA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Tony's used to be wonderful, but something happened a few years ago (menu change, etc.) and we have had 2 horrible meals since then. We will never ever go back to Tony's. The Plaza Restaurant, on the other hand, has wonderful sandwiches and AWESOME desserts :thumbsup2 It's a must-do for us on every trip.

We tried Tony's for the 1st time last fall and loved it! It's our only repeat this year - dh's request! Maybe something happened with mgmt a couple years ago - the comments seem to be consistent. We were pleased with the food, and dh is very picky. Kids LOVED the giant cookie sundae desserts!
