Now that they added twice as many people with the “after party”, it’s a lot more crowded in that little garden than when there was only the original before party.
Personally, I really don‘t think it’s worth it.

Depends on how many glasses of wine you're going to have with that dessert. It was worth it for us to have a decent spot for a new show without giving up tons of park time waiting in the crowds. I don't think we would do it again for the same show.

Found this to be our experience as well. I was okay doing it to get my young DDs good views without fighting someone not to jump in front of them at the last minute, but I would not do it again for the same show. We did enjoy the party as well. We ate (and drank) more than plenty for the $$.

For the price, for us the answer is "No." We did it once, and it was fine. But the desserts were decidedly average, and I can metabolize only so much sugar at one sitting.

And a major disadvantage is being stuck at the top of main street when the fireworks are over (unless they open the "rabbit hole" shortcut by the restrooms to Town Square).

Worth it, it depends. Do you have an extra $100/person to spend on something special? There is definitely not $100/person worth of value.

We've done it once and am planning on surprising my girls with the dessert party in April. I am paying for it with part of my bonus I'll be getting in April. So it's my luxury spend for all the hard work I've had to do this past year. In addition, I don't feel like fighting crowds to watch fireworks.

FYI, I think my girls were around 8 the last time we did it. They both preferred the dessert party over eating in the castle. So it's a big deal to them.

We did a before party on 2/6. It was very manageable in the viewing garden. We had no problems finding a good view for the kids (9 & 6)

Yes, my first experience was a few years ago when there was no “after party”. There was plenty of room in the viewing garden and I did really enjoy the desserts, but I really wasn’t thrilled with the view from the garden. It’s not that it was blocked, but I just wanted to be closer. I decided it was not something I would pay for again. Fast forward to January 2022. Now COVID made me not want to be crowded at the hub, so I changed my mind and paid even more this time for desserts that were not as good and I shared the garden with twice as many people. My view was somewhat blocked by some people taller than me and I still Didn’t feel close enough. So, that’s it for me. I tried twice, and it’s Definitely not worth it for me.

My wife is not a fan of standing in the big crowd on Main Street to watch fireworks.
She was wondering about one of the dessert parties in MK or the parties on the Ferrytale ones.
Previous information appreciated.

I'm considering the after party for our upcoming trip. I've read that they put wheelchairs and ecvs near a railing so those guests can see. Does anyone know if the person accompanying them gets to stay with them? Or do they need to watch from a different area?

We did a before dessert party in early December 2021. The viewing area seemed crowded at first, more so than other parties we had attended that were just before parties. But then again a lot of people were sitting or sprawled on the ground and taking up a lot of real estate. When it came time for the show, they stood up and most people moved forward. That left a good deal of space toward the back, and I tend to lean on the back railing to watch the show, and I had a good view. So yes, it appeared crowded at first, but when people moved forward, that left a lot of space at the back. I do agree with other commenters about the lower quality of the desserts. There were fewer to choose from, and they weren't anything really special. The value of the dessert party, IMHO, isn't the desserts, it's having a relatively uncrowded space to watch the fireworks show and not having to camp out for hours for a good spot. Uncrowded at least in comparison to how people are totally jammed together on and around Main Street.

We thought it (Dessert after party early November) was worth it once because we had two unvaccinated kids (rest of us are fully vaccinated). We entered the party area 20 mins before and it was super crowded and we couldn’t move our stroller anywhere after 10-15 steps (got lot of dirty looks/comments from people sitting on the grass). Everything was subpar (even cheese). Our kids didn’t eat anything except the fruit. The view was great and Main Street crowds seemed more intense.

It’s time consuming to grab a spot or sit/eat deserts, so depends on what you’re looking for. We were still shoulder to shoulder with others (you couldn’t turn around and take pictures). When everyone gets asked to stand I would really try moving to the back (seemed more spacious).
