My thought process is to divide & conquer, lol, but the whole "best laid plan" line keeps popping up in my head too! So...not having been with a 5yr old before and wanting to make the most of our time BUT take a semi relaxed approach... I'm thinking we should divide the park in 1/2 for our 2 days, as follows:

Day 1 Sunday - 2/27-3/5 - Adventure Land & Frontier Land - the must do list, who needs a FP?
Jungle Cruise
Pirates of the Caribbean
BTMR
Splash
Haunted Mansion

Day 2 Thursday - Fantasy Land & Tomorrow Land - the must do list, who needs a FP?
Peter Pan
Carousel
7DMT
TomorrowLand Speedway
Buzz Lightyear
Barnstormer

What rides do you think I'm missing that my adventurous 5yr old would like (44" tall now with 6 months to grow). I also want him to be able climb on Tom Sawyers Island and stop and have a Mickey bar when he wants....I don't want us so rushed, were not having FUN...when we tire out, we will leave and come back later in the day (if park hours allow).

We always split Magic Kingdom like this.

My suggestions for FP+ for Frontierland and Adventureland
BTMRR
Splash
POC
Get HH and JC as 4th and 5th FP

My suggestions for FP+ for Fantasyland and Tomorrowland
PP
7DMT
Speedway
get 4th and 5th FP for Barnstomer and Buzz, no need for Carousel.

no Space?

I am not a Space Mountain fan, but if DS is willing to trying it, he will go with his Daddy! =)

If he can handle the other "mountains" Space Mountain isn't any worse than those in my opinion, unless he has a fear of the dark, which is the main thing that makes the ride "scary" for a lot of people.

You might want to add the Tea Cups to the list, my kids have always loved trying to make me dizzy.

My fondest Disney memory is chasing my then 3 year old daughter back to the entrance of Space Mtn moments before midnight with her screaming "one more time Daddy" all the way. I think your son will like it too.

Oh yes, the tea cups will be a must do, I'd forgotten those! I so wish Mr Toads Wild Ride was still there. =( I'm refusing Its a Small World though, no sireee! LOL
