My DF and I will be doing an Epcot/MK day on July 31st. We're going to be spending the morning at Epcot then ending out Epcot portion of the day with lunch at San Anglel Inn.

We will probably hit MK in the afternoon... go back to POR to rest... then do dinner before heading back to MK for EMH.

What do you think I should book for dinner?
California Grill
Reason I want to book it: We love sushi... and the food is very light there and will energize us for the evening.
Reason I don't want to book it: Dress code? My DF will probably be in khaki shorts and golf shirt (his uniform lol) Will that be okay? I will be probably be in a cute sundress or linen romper? Is that okay? Could we just have some sushi at the bar (do they still have that area?)

O'Hana's
Reason I want to book it: My DF loves his meat... he will really love the food there 100%. Also I know its a casual fun atmosphere...
Reason I don't want to book it: It's a buffet/unlimited... not good to have a heavy meal then have to go on rides :scared:

What do we think? & p.s Im not thrilled by any MK places... I've never had a good experience that justified what we paid for dinner

The clothes you described sound fine for CA Grill. I would pick CA Grill, but that's just me, as I love the food there, (though I've never tried their sushi.) I like Ohana too, but the food quality is better at CA Grill. Though Ohana has one of my favorite desserts on property.

I think it really comes down to do you want a fun meal, or a more romantic one?

'Ohana is not very good in my opinion - I would always pick the California Grill.

Sorry to barge in, but does the sushi count as an entree on the dining plan? I would like to order that.

California Grill, for sure.
What you propose to wear would be just fine.
You can certainly eat at the bar--IF you can get a seat. It's not very large and the seats go quickly--especially anywhere near fireworks time.

The last time I dined at CG, there were a couple sushi choices that counted as an 'entree' (I believe this included the "Deluxe Platter", and possibly the "Snake in the Grass" roll), whereas the rest were considered appetizers.
This was over a year ago, so I'm not sure if it's changed since then.

I would do CG over Ohana any day. I'm not a huge fan of Ohana as I find the food just OK, and since we don't have kids the atmosphere isn't much appeal. CG on the other hand is right up our alley:thumbsup2
