MK Crystal Palace for breakfast?

It's a loooooooooooooong story, folks. I won't bore you with all of the details. Here's the Reader's Digest Condensed Version:

Mother/Daughter trip Feb 3 - 9 to celebrate DD 21st birthday on the 6th.

Originally, we snagged the *perfect* breakfast ADR for CP.

THEN...

A well-intentioned person told our DD she was "too old" to eat at CP (because it's a character event? Because it's a buffet? Still confused about that LOL) and that she should cancel it, and go eat her birthday breakfast someplace else. Someplace "more mature". Suggested the Bakery on Main Street. OK, fine. It's DD's birthday trip - so we amended our plans.

This person is someone that DD really looks up to. I have no desire to meddle in their friendship, just wish this person would have kept their nose out of our plans.

NOW...

DD finds out that the Bakery on Main Street is now just a glorified Starbucks - that all of the goodies we loved and looked forward to are apparently not there anymore. She regrets letting go of the ADR, but of course no reservations are available on her birthday for breakfast (and the rest of the day is planned out - not giving up BOG FP+ for ANYTHING, and dinner is off-site, and non-negotiable as well).

Is it possible to do a walk-up at breakfast for CP? Or, is there any other breakfast at MK that might be fun/magical that we could still get in to either via walk up, or an ADR?

Well that is unfortunate. You could try walking up, but I would think doubtful that you would get in. Maybe you can keep checking for a cancellation - especially right before the day. Where are you staying? WHat about a resort hotel breakfast?

I've been checking the WDW site on a regular basis to see if anything has opened up. I saw a few folks here releasing CP breakfast ADRs, but they were all on the wrong days. I'll continue my program of stalking WDW's site and checking DISboards until the last moment! LOL

We are staying at POFQ - and beignets for breakfast is not a bad idea... but it's also not super "special" either, since we will eat breakfast there every other morning (I know - #firstworldproblems)

I've been looking at QS breakfast options at MK, since it looks like there aren't a lot of other TS options. She wanted to be at MK at rope drop, so we may just need to go QS, unless I'm somehow overlooking a TS option?

Keep checking, you never know when something will free up. During our last trip we were able to grab an 8:20a Crystal Palace ADR the day before..we were let in the park in 7:45a and were seated by 8:10

I don't even know the person that told your DD that Crystal Palace wasn't a good bday breakfast place for her...but I'm NOT their biggest fan, LOL.

We love CP breakfast.

Keep checking and checking every time you get a chance. You never know what will open up.

If you can't get one, and you don't want Main Street Starbucks, you can always go to Gaston's Tavern for a cinnamon roll and a LeFou's brew!
(and maybe try Kona or Grand Floridian Cafe for a nice "grown up" breakfast option pre-park opening...or even 'Ohana breakfast if she wants characters!)

Definitely keep trying. They always seem to come and go. The one time it was about a week before I saw one open up at 9. I wasn't going to take it cause to me that was late lol but I did and they let us into the park early and we got seated right away way before our reservation time. It was amazing! But that was in sept with low crowds. I've never been in February. I have no clue how the crowds are. Good luck! I hope you can get one that place is my favorite!!

Definitely keep trying crystal palace breakfast is 1 of our favorites! But another option might be to do breakfast at 1 of the monorail resorts. Kona cafe gets rave reviews and and there's also Ohana those are both at the poly and I believe they both start at 8:00am and then there is 1900 park fare and grand Floridian cafe. 1900 park fare opens at 8 not sure about the grand Floridian cafe. And finally there is the wave and chef mickeys...both those places open at 7:30 I believe and its a short walk from the contemporary to the magic kingdom.

What I would do in this situation is make a back up plan. See which restaurant you can get in at the earlier time. Either take the bus to the TTC or drive there and park. Take the monorail to whatever resort u were able to get the adr for and hopefully you should be able to make it for rope drop.

Now mind you this is only a back up plan. I would still stalk the wdw website and these boards for a cancelation. But at least you would have a back up plan. I wouldn't count on walking up to crystal palace at rope drop bc it is 1 of the only ts breakfast meals in magic kingdom and even if they were willing to give u a table you would still have to wait and that could eat up precious park time.

And XLSM - don't even get me started on this person! All I have said publicly about it is that maybe in the future, people who don't/can't appreciate your Disney side shouldn't have say in what you do while you are at Disney!

I think we may try Gaston's for the cinnamon rolls - and I didn't realize until tonight that Sleepy Hollow QS has FUNNEL CAKES! When it's a WDW birthday, you can TOTALLY have funnel cakes for breakfast! LOL

I just looked and saw an 8:05 adr for crystal palace on February 6.

I know you are only 2 people, but I can find an ADR for 3 people at 9:45am, (there's nothing for 2 available). If you make the ADR for 3, I believ you can try to call and change it to 2 people. As long as you show up, you won't be charged the 10$ no show for the "missing" person.

I love Crystal Palace, I mean who doesn't love Winnie the Pooh! Don't care if you're 2 or 92!

Agreed! Our next trip is planned specifically because I want to have breakfast with Eeyore on my birthday - and I'm turning 40!
