We are staying at WL and a CM just asked me what we were up to today. I told him we were heading to MK later and he told me the park reached capacity at 10 am and was closed. I can’t find anything online supporting this so turning to the Dis. Anyone here that can confirm or dispel this? We have fastpasses and dining later so assuming we’ll be allowed in either way?

Check in with Guest Services. It wouldn’t surprise me, MK usually does reach capacity on Christmas Day. I would try to figure out a strategy for entering later, if possible. Good luck!

Wouldn’t MDE alert me to this? Figured I would receive an email or mobile alert or something.

MK hasn't reached a stage 4 closure in over a decade -- the chances of it happening today are basically zero. It is possible that the parking lot is closed. It is also possible that the CM doesn't have any idea what he is talking about

Right which is why I’m posting here to see if anyone at the park could confirm or deny.

It did not reach any capacity closure at all. I just left
I’m furious that CM would spread that kind of bad info
It was very odd. We didn’t seek out info he just offered up that MK closed at 10 am and we shouldn’t even bother. I didn’t complain to anyone about it but did mention it on the survey since it almost seemed like he wanted to be... harmful for lack of a better word. Misleading is probably a better word.

The rumors about the parks reaching capacity still surprises me. Not here specifically but that they continue to thrive.
We are dining in MK right now
One table, who said they are local AP, was talking to a neighbor table, not local or AP, and told them that all 4 parks will close to capacity early tomorrow. That they better be at the park in the morning. Another table overheard and asked them to confirm, and he did confirm to them also that all 4 parks will be closed early tomorrow. That they all close every year
How do these people really believe this and not even try to check it out?

Maybe a bus driver told them. .::yes::

I know if I were at WDW and logged into DISBoards to ask a quick question and someone that purported to be a local AP would answer the question, I would give it some weight and might not think to question it before logging out. In this case, I'm more concerned that an alleged "local AP" (or a CM as in the OP's original post) would give such misleading information.

Sorry, I meant how do the locals just take the rumor that all parks close to capacity every year and never bother to check it out

Well, this local knows better than that!

Just went onto the Disney app and got no notifications so I hope that is a good sign. I'm hoping to park in the MK parking lot later in the evening/night for reservations. Wish it was sooner, but unfortunately, I have to wait until I get off work. I guess we'll see what the day brings as it continues. I know one set of the fireworks go off around 6, so hoping that empties out a few who have the younger ones.
