First post!!! I've been enjoying the plethora of info here as I plan my family's first trip to WDW. Decided to stay in a cabin at FW and rented a GC from Kenny thanks to you guys!

My question is, how long of a wait can we expect for the boat back to FW at MK closing time? Are there typically enough people waiting to fill up several rounds of the boat? Will it make a big difference whether we watch Wishes near the park exit or farther in?

The date is 3/1 after Spectro and Wishes at 8, and park closes at 8. My boys are 2 and 4, and that will really be a stretch keeping them out that late, so I'm hoping to hear that it's fairly quick to get back to the cabin!!!

Thanks everyone!

The wait can be several minutes, possibly up to 30 if the last boat recently left the dock. But, typically 15 min. The good news is it holds lots of people and I don't remember ever seeing the boat fill up and leave a line of people still standing there. So you shouldn't have to wait for several boats to board. But, if you have a deeply interior campsite then you'll have to walk over to the bus depot and possibly wait again for a bus.

Oops, saw you got the GC never mind about the second wait for the bus.

When Wishes is at park close, where you watch can make a BIG difference in how quickly you get out of the park. If it were me, I'd plan to watch them near the train station and make a hasty retreat immediately after the finale. You should have a pretty good chance of catching the first boat back to FW that way. Good luck and have fun!

It's nice though that you generally don't have to fold up the strollers. Just wait off to the side till every one else goes in, the load right by the door. Although there might be some standing room in the back like there is on the friendship boats (i'm usually up front so I don't pay attention).

I've seen it get packed after park closing, maybe for that first boat. But if the park is closing at 8pm, I don't think the parks will be that crowded. And I doubt it would take long.
