MK area resort with the best dining?

Hello!

If you needed to eat dinner at an MK area resort every night for four to five nights (and possibly almost every lunch), which one would you choose? I am currently selecting an MK area resort for check in on Labor Day (so I'm guess that the restaurant replacing The Wave will not yet be complete).

My twin children are four years old. If we rope drop at Magic Kingdom, we will leave the park in the afternoon, possibly for a late lunch at the resort, and then I do not plan on bringing them back to the park. If resort hopping is relatively easy, I may consider some meals at a nearby resort, but most dinners will be at the resort we are staying in.

I don't have strong opinions on the experience of table service vs. quick service. I do care about ability to accommodate food allergies, but this seems to be relatively prevalent at most Disney resort restaurants.

My apologies if you already saw my thread about my wanting to choose an MK area resort. After convenience to MK, dining is the second most important factor so I thought that I would create this separate thread for that.

IMO Grand Floridian has the best overall, and largest, selection of onsite restaurants. Plus you can walk to the Poly for all of theirs too. Another plus is you can walk those kids back to the room from MK.

Having stayed at the Poly, the GF, and CR, I can tell you that I like all three for different reasons. However, if I were focusing purely on restaurants at these three resorts, I'd pick CR as my #1 and then GF. I think the Contempo Cafe is the best QS resort restaurant on property, with Gasparilla Island Grill a close second. We love The Wave, and I've heard amazing things about the California Grill at CR. While Chef Mickey's isn't my favorite character meal, it's a classic experience; even the Outer Rim bar is fun! Whatever you pick, I hope that you have a magical time with your family!

That's really helpful. I've only been to Poly once and loved the ambience. How long is the walk from GF to the Poly?

Thank you!

I haven't been to CR in well over a decade, but I loved loved loved The Wave. I'm sad that it's closing soon and am curious to see what will replace it. That's good to know about Contempo Cafe. I remember how it looked but I can not seem to remember any of the food I ate! I remember thinking that the Chef's Mickey's experience felt (as an adult) overwhelming and my best guess is that my children may feel the same way...?
