MK - April 22nd hours?!?!?!

Any idea why the MK closes at 6:30pm on April 22nd??? I think the next 2 nights are Grad Nights and the park closes at 7pm both nights, so at least that makes sense... but what about April 22nd? I'm kind of annoyed with the shortened hours considering it's school vacation week for alot of places up here in New England and in the past the hours have been much longer (at least 9pm for MK). Some other nights during this week in April, the MK closes at 8:30pm.

I'm concerned about this too! I posted about this weeks park hours when April hours were first released. No one responded. Guess you and I will be the only DIS'ers there that week!

My guess is the 22nd MK closes for a private party. I read on some other web-site that McDonalds is having their annual convention in Orlando ending on Apr. 22 over at the Orlando Convention center. I think in the past they have rented out the Studios for their private party, so wouldn't be surprised if this year they are at MK. This is pure speculation though!

As you know, many (most) CT, MA and I believe RI public schools have that week for spring break. I am concerned that with these limited park hours, MK will be a mad house especially on Monday and Wednesday evenings, the only evening that week with SpectroMagic. I truely think Disney blew it when they scheduled this early closing knowing full well that Grad nights were closing the park early the next two nights.

I emailed Disney regarding my concerns over park hours that week. Of course, I have yet to hear a response from them on this. If ever there was a reason for Disney to schedule an E-nite, I think this is it! But, sure would be surprised if that happened. The old days of Disney magic seem to be fading.

The early closings of the parks are very disappointing. I would expect the parks to have shorter hours during the value season, but during regular season! Also, the vacation certainly isn't any cheaper although the parks are closing.

We are going to be there from 4/18 thru 4/27.

I went to Disneyworld.com and scrolled to the bottom of the page. There is a "contact us" link that I used to voice my complaint. Got an auto response thanking me for my comments and that someone would be contacting me to discuss further, but I have yet to hear anything. I guess I submitted it about 3 weeks ago. Good luck! Hopefully if enough of us complain, they will make some changes!

Ludwig you are the winner!! I checked my sources (can't reveal) and you are absolutely correct!! There is a private party that night at MK and the sponsor is McDonalds. Just FYI, there is another one on May 2 and the sponsor is Visa. This is not usual to have a major company rent the entire park for the evening. So folks there are your answers. I will be there from April 28-May 8th and have been checking my sources regularly for the May hours and the possibility of any May E-ticket nights--especially since there are none scheduled for April.

Just emailed WDW to complain about the crummy hours... somehow just venting via email made me feel a little better!
