Okay, I know that the Xmas Parade is usually taped at MK on the first Saturday in December. At least it's been that way the past 3 years.

This year, we have a group coming with us and due to arrival/departure times of our friends, we can go to MK on Saturday or Sunday with them.

The thing is that is the first weekend in December, when the taping is done. I have never been to MK on a Saturday. I generally avoid it because it seems like it's too busy, even in the off season. On the other hand it might be cool to be there for the taping.

When we go to MK we are generally there at opening and leave after lunch for a break. We would do this no matter what day it is.

By the way, we are also doing MVMCP on Sunday. So that's figuring in here as well.

So here are my options:

1. Go to MK on Sat. AM. Be there before opening. Brave the crowds if they are doing the taping. Leave after lunch.

2. Go to MK for EMH on Sunday. Break for lunch. Return for MVMCP later that evening.

I am just worried that EMH and MVMCP in one day might be too tiresome as in fatigue. Any opinions here?

Just keep in mind that taping is a long arduous process. The parade doesn't just go and not stop. The taping for one parade could happen over 5 hrs!!! But, if you're going to be there and understand the process, then fine, go ahead. I've just seen posts from people that didn't realize how it worked and were a little upset at the length of time it took. As far as the EE day, and then MVMCP, I would say if you don't mind using a day on your pass then go ahead and do the early entry and then go back for the party. Otherwise, I would hit a different park and go back to MK around 4ish. And sleep in a little too. That's a looong day with MVMCP and EE!!!! Have fun. We're hoping to catch the first MVMCP!!

Honestly, I don't think we want to sit and just watch the taping. We want to do rides and such. Can you do that on taping day? Or is it just a major hassle with the taping going on?

I heard too that this last year they taped the parade over a 3 day period - Fri. Sat. Sun. I know no one knows if they will do that this year.

The EE and MVMCP thing and getting exhausted is what has me worried. I think I really want to go on Sat. but I wonder if it's a major pain in the rear if the taping is going on.

I sat throught most of the taping 2 years ago but it seemed like the rides part was not over crowded especially in the early AM when lots of the crowds were watching the parade taping...as the day continued the number of people on the curb got fewer so I'm sure the lines got longer...

We were there on the Saturday this year. The only place it is really crowded is Main Street. We stopped and watched for about 15 minutes and then went on our way. One plus was that they ran the Merry Christmas Parade (that is normally only shown during MVMCP) at 5 o'clock, so we got to see that. By the way, they continued to tape on Sunday as well.

We were there on sunday this year and they were doing a little more tapeing than they had planned becasue some of the stars were delayed due to snow. As someone posted, only main street was crowded and we found a seat, back a ways and watched just for a short time.

As for the day that you do MVMCP, we like to make that our day off. We sleep late and go out for a nice breakfast. This past year we went swimming (BRRRR) and I resort hopped for a few hours. We arrived at MK about 5:00. You can get in as early as 4:00 with your MVMCP (at least in the past), had dinner at LTT (the best :teeth: ) and were ready to start the party at 7:00. We made it till almost 12:00 and we would have never have done that if we had done a park that AM.

They actually run this parade at 3:00 every day the week of Christmas.
