MK Afternoon

I know most people recommend shows in the afternoon, however the only time we have in MK is from 2 - 7 and we would really like to maximize our time with some rides following our fastpasses. I understand that there will be tons of crowds, especially since we’re going at a high crowd time, however, will crowds die down closer to 7 by chance? What plan should we try? Any advice??

If I'm in MK in the afternoon on a moderate to heavy crowd-level day and have used my FP+s, I try to do attractions that have large capacity and little to no wait: CoP, People Mover, Laugh Floor, Philharmagic, Tiki Birds, WDW Railroad, Hall of Presidents, Riverboat, etc.

No, parks are still crowded at 7 pm. You may get some people leaving the parks before dinner, but the lines for rides still remain high and people with park hoppers start to go to MK once other parks close.

Once you have done your 3 FP's, I would search for additional FP once you tap your MagicBand at the last FP ride. It is a crapshoot what you may get on a busy crowd day, but it is possible to get some mid-tier attractions like Pirates, Splash, It's a Small World, and Little Mermaid for example. If there are gaps between your next FP's, I usually will fill it by shows close to my next FP. For example, if I have a FP for Buzz Lightyear in 45 minutes, I would do Carousel of Progress or the PeopleMover since they are close in that area.
