I read earlier today how miserable the MK was yesterday. Well, I hope people went back today because it was AWESOME!!! Since it closed at 4:30 today, and consequently there was no nighttime entertainment, the crowds stayed away - the morning was especially empty. We rode so many rides - including Splash, 7DMT, Space, Jingle Cruise - with less than 20 minute waits and all without FP+! I actually regretted making afternoon FP+s at Epcot as we would have just stayed and played the rest of the afternoon, but kids wanted to go back to Epcot... We got almost a full day's worth of rides in about 7 hours, including eating breakfast and lunch. So, sometimes what seems like a negative (MK closing early), can really be a positive! And as an aside, my kids were happy to know that Cast Members were being treated to a party.

We too had a great day at MK! Got there at 7:30 this AM and were some of the first people lined up to go in. Followed the cast members all the way to Mine Train a little before 8 and rode with no wait at all. In the first hour, we did Mine Train, Dumbo, Peter Pan, Under the Sea, Ariel's Grotto and Haunted Mansion. No wait for anything.

We then had breakfast at BOG and started using our FPs. As soon as we used the first three, we were able to grab another and another, etc. Through mid-morning to mid-afternoon, we did Laugh Floor, People Mover, Hall of Presidents, Muppet Show, Tea Cups -- and Buzz Lightyear at least seven times -- we lost count!

We left mid-afternoon and enjoyed taking in the sights and sounds of Main Street with elbow room -- a rare treat these days. It was just a perfect day -- low crowds, lovely weather, good food. Couldn't be beat. We finished up tonight with a yummy dinner at California Grill!

That's awesome! I love days like that at the parks! DD and I had a similar day a few yrs ago. We hopped over to MK from AK the Sun. before Tday when MK was open till 3 am, and DD(10 at the time) wanted to try and stay all night. We had FP between 4-7 for Mermaid ride, Enchanted Tales, and HM, and grabbed a bite and watched fireworks and parade. By 11:30, the park began clearing out and we walked onto almost every ride, including Splash, BTMRR, PP, Winnie the Pooh, and Buzz(no 7DMT yet) - best we have ever done! We made it till 2:30, when DD said, "I want to stay, but can't keep my eyes open". It was so cool to be in such an empty park, great memory!

So jealous, but I'm I really happy that all of you got to enjoy such an amazing day!

Good tip for the future, if I am ever around during an early park closing day.

It caused some havoc later in the afternoon. Took my daughter over an hour to get from WL to Epcot on the busses. They were diverting busses thru FW Campgrounds or something. They said it was due to the early park closing.

I was there yesterday also. Got inside right about 8:00, thought it'd be too late even to rush to Mine Train without a wait. Got sidetracked doing a short wait for meet with Minnie. Went leisurely to 7DMT and got into a 20 minute line. Forgot how actual roller coaster-y it is tho!! Was good, but my last time. I do have to say that it is a short ride so any kind of long wait isn't necessarily worth it (at least if you've done it before)...

Ate at BOG, then used my FP for Under the Sea. First time, nicely themed. Philharmagic and Laugh Floor with no wait. Went into the shop at Space to get a custom MB. That was a neat experience. Shopped at an empty Main St general store after the Dance Shake parade came thru. Rode the train all the way around.

The weather was incredible, and it was nice to be there with minimal crowds. Fantasyland was by far the most crowded area I went thru.

To me now that I can go anytime, is to pick the least crowded seeming days from a crowd chart. Try for FP.

With the early closure, what was the latest time people were able to have reservations for TS meals? Also if you were in line for a ride at 430 did you still get to ride? Thanks!
