Wow, it's been quite a while since I last posted so I thought I'd kind of give a quick update on how things are going.
In August my parents and I drove to Orlando and attended the DFTW Open House. While we were there we met with wedding consultant, Diane Mahoney and had a site visit. We visited the wedding pavilion, two of the ballrooms in the grand floridian, and one of the ballrooms at the contemporary resort.
We have now definitely decided to have our ceremony at the wedding pavilion and our reception in the St. Augustine Ballroom at the Grand Floridian and are still entertaining the idea of a dessert party, but not certain yet. It's exciting because the timeline where we get to sign a contract and put down our deposit is fast approaching. (sighhhhh, awwww, I thought it would never come).
I haven't done too much with the wedding plans. I did decide to paint the horseshoes they're kind of a shimmery golden color similar to one of the pictures posted earlier in PJ. Other than that I kind of have been busy and put things on hold. We did have a little snafu where Nathan's parents didn't seem as pleased as us that we chose disney as our destination for the wedding nor were they happy with the date we chose because it falls on a Monday. As much as I was hoping that they would be as supportive as my parents are, I realized that I can't please everyone, this is what Nathan and I want, and I know there are others on this board who have to deal with unsupportive friends and family and I feel like I'm in good company here. To heck with them, it's our day.
This past Thursday, Nathan and I had our engagement pictures done because we want to have them incorporated into our save the dates. We would like to be able to send them out as soon as possible to family and friends who would like to come can start planning accordingly.
Our photographers were fantastic and I'm in the process of seeing if I can get them to come to Disney *fingers crossed*. Yesterday they posted a "sneak preview" on their blog. so I thought I'd share those pics with ya'll!
These were taken at the stable where I board my horse, Falcon. That's him in the pictures. Unfortunately we had a lot of rain earlier that week and it took a lot of the fall foliage of the trees but the pictures came out all right even with the overcast skies.
hope you like them!
