Not long ago, seems like within the past week, I saw somewhere a list (photo) with an explanation of where to find the information on what mixology classes were available on a ship. I seem to remember the poster saying that you need to go directly to the bar for the list? Does anyone happen to know what I saw and where I can go to find it? We will be cruising in January with our all 21+ adult kids for the first time and thought a mixology class would be fun. But when I went to find the info, I can't remember where I saw it Any help is appreciated, TIA

They would have the list at guest services for you to sign up. When we were on the Fantasy you could also sign up at La Piazza. Look in your Navigator when you are waiting in the terminal. It will be listed.

When we sailed in January I though there was a note in the Personal Navigator they handed out at boarding. I went to one of the bars that day to sign up.

Sign-up location may vary by ship or even different cruises. Check the Navigator that you'll receive at check-in at the terminal before boarding. That will have the information for your cruise so you don't end up standing in a line at the wrong location.

Enjoy your cruise!

I remember signing onto the DCL app in the terminal and being able to scan through the activities to see which days and times mixology was offered, so we knew which one to sign up for as soon as we boarded.

I would recommend going to the proper location immediately upon boarding the ship. On our last cruise, we were in the early boarding numbers (maybe 3 or 4). I went directly to Guest Services and got the last two tickets for the only remaining Mixology Class.

And a side note, we were charged the $15 per person at that time and we received tickets. If something had come up, and we were not able to go, I doubt if there would have been a refund. With that said, we had a great time, and the group asked our bartender if he could hold a second class on a subsequent sea day. He took everyone's names and cabin numbers. We heard back a couple days later that it was confirmed. So if you aren't able to get your tickets on the first day, keep checking back. You may also want to ask your favorite bartender if he/she knows of any classes that you might be able to get in.

In May 2015, on the Wonder, we signed up for Mixology (and wine, liquor tastings) in Triton's. If you went after boarding was done, then you signed up at guest services. Our specific cruise also had 4 or 5 groups of 20 or so that were signed up to do private mixology classes. Those were fun!

Guest services can tell you at which of the bars you can sign up at. It's different on every cruise. If the mojito one is offered - it was our favourite so far!

ALWAYS. go ASAP to guest services and get what I need. Of course this is beacause my group is usually 6-8 people and want everyone in same class.

Yes you usually get charged at time of making the reservation but sometimes I have not been charged until the class. Either way have not had a problem with either having charge removed or not charged at all if someone needs to cancel (for whatever reason) as long as we cancel at least an hour before scheduled.

On our last cruise, you weren't charged until you showed up and gave them your tickets which is different from what we've experienced before.

When you go to Guest Services to sign up, we had to buy our tickets, and our cabin was charged at that point for the tickets. I do not know what would have happened if we wanted to cancel.

For our second mixology class, where it was planned after our first class, we just showed up for the class. At the end of the class, he asked for everyone's room keys, and he wrote how much to charge each one (whether one or two people from the room). He then went to the office to do all the charges, and left us behind the bar to continue making drinks for 5-10 minutes. Needless to say, there were some mighty good drinks being made at that time.

What are the choices of mixology classes?

How do these classes work? How much are they?

There is only one mixology seminar, but there are other types of seminars as well, including beer tasting, wine tasting, champagne tasting, martini tasting, whiskey tasting, cognac tasting, and chocolate and beverage tasting.

The cost depends on the specific course, but I believe they can vary from 15$-30$ per person (the chocolate & beverage pairing was the most expensive last time we went).

I believe the minimum now is $20, but it did used to be $15.

For the mixology class how many drinks do you make? (I'm a light weight and don't want to be sick)
