One of my best friend's Dad was killed in a car accident late Wed. night. I have been doing my best to help her through this awful time. It's so sad.

Anyways, just wanted you all to know why I've been MIA.

Liz...maybe you should hire a hit man to shoot your ex husband. The Nuts seem to get in enough trouble on their own. Or maybe you could trick the Goofster into doing it. He seems easily pursuaded.

Lisa...so sorry to hear about your friend and her father but that's great that she has you, I'm sure you're a huge help to her during this difficult time.

Rob...just because you weren't signed on for the y'all are strange comment doesn't mean you're exempt. Double standard, remember?

p.s. My self portrait is still on the drying rack at school but I don't think anyone ever needs to see it. The kids did all enjoy that I was participating in art class.

The Halloween costumes are finally almost done. We had been focusing on Eren's costume which is now completely done. This weekend we finally got the pattern and the fabric for mine and started sewing it. Still a little bit to go, but it's getting there! Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Liz has learned the hard way...drinking an entire bottle of champagne alone is not a good idea. She literally passed out at midnight and did not wake up until the phone rang at 8:39 a.m. Sunday.

The maternal unit and I also had a discussion about my interior decorating tastes. Although she likes what I've done with the room, she would never do it herself because it's not quite feminine enough for her. The toile yes, the beige and black no. She also feels that Gram wouldn't like the amount of black (this was Gram's bedroom). So later in the afternoon, after I'd been to Michael's and bought more fake black roses to beef up the floral arrangement in there, I very distinctly heard my grandmother's voice..."Oh, Elizabeth Catherine...I don't like this." I could just picture her, lips pursed and fingertips tapping in agitation.

Tell her black is a sophisticated & universal accent and trim color.

Or you could try to pass it off as mourning???

Fun and busy weekend for Rob. The only thing I have done at home since about midnight last Thursday is sleep, literally (well, I may have ate one or two snacks and taken a shower or two). Home, straight to bed, wake up, leave -- repeat.

Back to work today so I can rest a little bit.

Well, it's been a while since high school orchestra, and I'm not real sure where I've stored my clarinet...
