I know this will surprise many of you on this thread but DW says I'm not shy either (for similar reasons).

I live on 'main street'--if I walked past my windows undressed the neighbors would think my bedroom contained a weather balloon!

I knew Elton John was coming to our town, I love him in concert!! I was waiting, waiting, waiting for the date.

It's a one night show and I can't make it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm wondering if he is playing somewhere else within driving distance on any of the following days, but his web site doesn't have teh info.

Elton is opening our city's brand spanking new arena in less than 2 weeks BUT his show is sold out, in fact it sold out in less than 15 minutes, and no shows have been added. Hannah Montana's (Miley Cyrus) sold out in about 20 minutes. Still tickets left for Rascal Flatts and Van Halen though.

And, the really BIG concert news that broke yesterday... GARTH BROOKS is coming to town to do a concert on November 14 at the new arena. It is his first major concert since 1998 and his first concert in KC since 1996. We may also be the ONLY city he does a concert in. It is part of a special deal he worked out with Wal-Mart who is the exclusive seller of his new album (of old songs, I think) this Christmas season. Wal-Mart suggested either Fayetteville, Arkansas or Kansas City and for some reason, he picked K.C.

I'm not going to be nice and try to give you tips on how to get through it. I'll tell you the only thing that helps me...

Just suck it up and do it and get it done. I don't know about you, but I always feel better without it hanging over my head.

Of course, then I spend days afterward analyzing it, wondering if I sounded demanding or snippy or rude...

Doing events it is always hanging over yr head, two years out, a year out, 6 months out, but I am getting better at delegating.
I am also getting better at realizing these are NOT coronations or summit meetings

One of the guides didn't show--so the tour (yes, one, big, unwieldy horde) had it's interesting moments

And man! those kiddies certainly knew how to spend in the gift shop

Could someone please shoot my ex-husband for me? Idiot never took me off of the auto insurance, so now it's MY problem.

Why am I the one that has to fix things when he screws up? That's the way it's always been. Now that I'm rid of him, I'm still cleaning up his messes.

I hate him.

Cheryl...So how long is Crystina observing for? How did she get the time off school to do it? I am a little confused as to this whole situation. I observed my class at art today and the teacher wanted me to participate with the kids so I painted a self portrait. It turned out just lovely.

p.s. Tell Tom to dye his hair. Otherwise I'll be confused next time I see him and we all know I don't need any help in that area.

She needed 15 hours in one classroom. She only missed two classes on Thursday, since the other class she has is the one this is for. And, they knew why she was missing class. Then, she has two online classes she did from home. I'm sure all states have different criteria. She had a whole booklet she had to fill out, and then a couple of pages the art teacher had to fill out today. She also needs to write a paper about her observations. It was cool that the teacher let her actually teach the class. When I went to pick her up today, the art teacher said she was keeping her. lol She did seem to enjoy it, which is good.

I haven't decided. I am definitely a bigger Garth Brooks fan now than I was when he was here 11 years ago (still not a huge one though) so I might.

It's on a Friday night Jean (October 26) -- you all should come down for the weekend. Especially since David Lee Roth is back as lead vocalist, though Michael Anthony is no longer on bass guitar of course. On the other hand, 4 days later, the band will begin a Northeast swing (Boston, Washington, East Rutherford, Worcester, Uniondale, New York City).
