Mixed Nuts Part 2

Cheryl...Why is it that you always go to Disney right before/after me? When are you going in December again? Have a good night at work.

I think it's Dec.8-11. I have to check that.

Work @@. It was a small event, so I went in by myself. When I do this, I set up, bartend and clean up. It was supposed to be a cash bar and they also ordered a coffee station and water station. I had everything done early.
Then, the client comes up to me and says "my boss said we can't serve alcohol at a company event". Hello?? You didn't find this out before you booked?
Now, there is no one to talk to and nothing to do and my phone died on me @@. I had to clean up the bar and just wait for them to leave. It was a long boring night.

Jean!
Did you go on that Duck Tour meet in Boston yesterday?

What's up with the creepy scissor pics Cheryl???????

I feel like I'm a world traveler with you around, Jean!

Glad to see you're clearly hanging on to every word of my posts, Blue! :rotfl:

I overslept! But, in a world of many coincidences we are on a one hour delay today due to a gas leak anyway so I'm not even late. What are the odds?

Have a good one.

:grouphug:

I remember having the munchies once or twice in college. Funny, though a hangover had nothing to do with it. Hmmmmm.......

Yeah, I never got the munchies from a hangover before... :rolleyes1

Oh, well, new experiences are good, right?

Liz....cute room, looks like it's coming along nicely!

Then, I needed to cut a circle out of a piece of paper. Instead of folding the paper in half like we tell the kids to do I just jabbed the scissors through the paper because I wanted to get it done fast because I needed it for a lesson. As you may be able to guess, I actually jabbed the scissors right into my finger. It didn't stop bleeding the whole morning and it hurt like heck, it was pretty deep. I may or may not have uttered a few choice words. :rolleyes1 Thank goodness there were no children around.

I'm heading to class, hope everyone had a good Monday.
:wave2:

Thanks!

And here's a t-shirt for you...

So...my mother's interview went well, but she doesn't know yet if she has the job. She has her fingers crossed, though. And it looks like I'll be moving on October 6th, or that weekend. Now I'm getting nervous. Remind me that I'm not necessarily going to lose my independence.

Good morning Nuts! Just a quick drive-by on my way out the door to work this morning...

Today, I am surrendering and having a professional plumber come in. He/she is going to install a flexible supply line so that hopefully in 10 years (or so), I can install the next dishwasher successfully.

DW's SUV is in the shop so I am driving the 21-year old pickup to work today. Thankfully, the heat broke since the truck has no working A/C. Unthankfully, it is raining here (well, good for my lawn) and I'm not sure how the truck's wipers are. It is 21 years old with less than 33,000 actual miles.

Car Service Guy: We think the (funny) noise is coming from the timing chain mechanism. We can replace it under your extended warranty or you can probably drive it for a while longer. I figured you'd want to replace it under the warranty though. We have to remove the engine.

Me:  (and then) Um, yeah, any repairs that require the engine to be removed, let's do them now under warranty. (and then)

Actually, he was just making sure we could do without her SUV for a few days. Heck yeah, with that kick-butt 1986 Ford F-250 in the driveway that gets about 7 miles to the gallon. We don't need no stinkin' SUV.

Bye!

I have my fingers crossed for your mother Liz!

You're not going to lose your independence - you'll be saving tons of money ;) :thumbsup2

Need a man to do the job eh?

:teeth:

Too bad about the SUV - but at least it's still under warranty. What a dork mechanic you had

Good Morning, well almost afternoon Nutters,

Spent the weekend away from the computer and trying to get caught up.

Skimmed over the weekend posts…

I see Blue is bailing on us for next summer at Disneyland, I don’t think she is using her womanly wiles to their fullest potential.

Gas leak! In an elementary school, it must have been tough to sort out the truly lethal from the just nasssty! :rotfl:
Hope your finger is on the mend!
Nice tee Liz got for you!

I get the munchies from brushing my teeth! :sad2:
When does your Mom think they'll call back? Did they give her a time frame?
We're rooting for her! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Nope, like Blue said, you're saving lots of moola and helping out yr Mom! :woohoo:

All do-it-yourselfers bow down to the Flexible Pipe God! DH is in awe of it!
Will your little cat be assissting the plumber?

If blue uses all her womanly wiles, there will be a mass influx of good, studly American males across the Canadian border!
We ladies have to be verrry cautious in how we use our Secret Weapon! :cutie:

Liz...you will still be independent. And thanks for the shirt.
Glad your mom's interview went well.

Rob...your truck is the same age as me.

Jean....you're right, these things are apparently difficult to sort out!! The fire department was at the school until 9:30. The kids all arrived at 9 so we just let them all play on the playground for 30 minutes. Then, we took them to mass at 10 and they have lunch and recess from 11:30 to 12:30 so we had virtually no morning!

Goofster and My Bluester....:wave2:

It was a ridiculously hotT day in the school of no air conditioning. When will the summer weather just GO AWAY!!!!!!!!!!

The finished product!

And?
:confused3

She doesn't know what fun she is missing!

BTW, nice of you to make an appearance;)

Rob, sorry you had to surrender! It's not easy losing the home repair battle.

Liz, you will be fine!! Just don't live liek you always lived before. Glad your mom's interview went well for her.

Hi Peej!! Sorry about the school stuff, although, more recess makes more tired children.

Hi Jean! Lovely breakfast photo!
Dod you see my post about the Boston meet?
