I need somebody to give me a quick run-down on all the nutty going-ons over the past week........Rob????

PJ!!! We missed you terribly! Good to have you back.

Sorry, Lisa but I've been away from the DIS too much my ownself. I tried to get seven days worth of tasks done in three before I left town. Tonight I am at a Courtyard by Marriott in or near St. Louis, Missouri, and still had to do a couple of things for my real work but I should now be able to focus on fun and my two DS's for the rest of this weekend.

wow, did everyone zonk out early tonight??

Today's word for Rob (besides zonk) is rain. I don't know that I've ever driven 180 miles in the rain before.

All games were rained out today here in St. Louis. 8:00 game tomorrow morning is in question but they won't update the rainout information line until 5:30 A.M. so I have to get up to see if I have to get up. Rain has stopped now so hopefully DS11 will play baseball tomorrow.

Since games were rained out today, the team went swimming at the outdoor pool for three hours at one of the hotels part of the team is staying at. DS11 came down yesterday with his coaches so I could work one more day and get the two younger kids off to school this morning so I wasn't here until after he was done swimming. Well, the kid is sunburned in a big way -- face, chest, back, arms. I asked DS11 if he used any sunscreen -- no! I am so at him and the grownups who were supervising him. I hope he can pitch and hit (and play first base and the outfield) with a bad sunburn on his upper body.

BTW, DS6 lost his league tournament championship game. The other team turned a flyball double play against us one inning and then a flyball triple play against us the very next inning. That pretty much finished us off. He still finished with an overall record of 11-3, a big improvement over last year's 5-8 record, and got to bring two trophies home last night (one for his league first place finish and one for being the second place team in the post-season tournament).

I am sorry to say that I am "zonking" out early tonight. I wish I could stay and chat with you but I'm tired and need to be up early tomorrow

Many text messages from the peanut tonight. Last one she sent was from the car on her way home. She was extremely tired from the time change and 20 hours of travelling to get home.

I hope you get some rest.

They are in summer school (with the other delinquents -- not really, summer school nowadays (at least in KC) is geared more towards the general population than it used to be, it is as much (or more) for those kids that want to go -- or whose parents want them to go -- than those kids who have to go). Summer school gets out TODAY so their real summer of vacation will start then and go for about six weeks.

I'm hoping I might be able to zonk out at lunch. If no one is in the break room, I'm commandeering the TV to watch Star Trek TNG and zonking out on the sofa.

I should set PJ up with the cop I saw this morning. Going through a construction area, where cars barely have enough room to get by, and the ONE cop there is leaning on his cruiser, texting away on his cell phone. Our tax dollars hard at work...

I'm beginning to think I should build an ark with all this rain. It feels like 40 days and nights. You know though, it's the poop I don't want to deal with. You know some body had to shovel the poop. No doubt no one else would do it and it would be left to me.

Do they have shoveling the poop in that new comedy where the guy has to build the ark? Or do they ever get animals?

Hello friends! I missed you all!! We had an absolutely wonderful time. Spain, Italy, and France were beyond amazing and the Disney Magic is just beautiful. I made so many new friends onboard and I just had such a great time. I'm sad for it to be over but at the same time it feels good to be home. I'll be starting a trip report whenever I have time.

I am just driving by to say that I'll be absent for a few more days still. In a complicated series of events that I won't bore all of you with I'm moving to Orlando tomorrow. My older sister who works for Disney was going to be driving home to Orlando tomorrow and I was going to help her with the drive and then fly home a few days later. Things are a little strained between my parents and me, which some of you already know so things have been kind of rough lately. Because of that my sister and I decided I might as well just stay down in Orlando with her and get a job down there for the summer and then come home in time to student teach in August.

SO...to make a long story short, we'll be driving to Orlando tomorrow and should get there late tomorrow night. I'll have my laptop and hopefully can get it working soon so I can check in with y'all. I really wish I had a few more days before we have to go, but my sister has to work on Monday.

About the postcards...they only had Spanish stamps on the ship so they couldn't send them until we got back to Barcelona and then by that point I completely forgot about them. I did write them all out though so I'm still going to send them even though I'm already home. They'll be postmarked from Ohio which is boring but I wrote them all out so I figured I might as well!

Anyway, sorry for the long post and I'll talk to you guys as soon as I can!!

Thanks, Cheryl. I'll let you guys know when I get there and how things go. Sorry we couldn't wait a few days so I could have time to catch up with y'all before I left but I guess it's time to go! We're going to get up at 5 and drive 16 hours straight. Fun times.

I heard from Elisabeth tonight and she was just leaving the Grand Canyon and headed for New Mexico. She says hi to everyone!

I should probably try to get some sleep so I don't wreck the car tomorrow. Hope to talk to all of you soon.

Wow, it's like everyone who is, or has been on vacation, is checking in today.

Speaking of vacation, I picked up a new pet peeve on mine: people who light up their cell phone screens or their digital camera display screens when the cave tour guide turns off the lights for five seconds to show the tour group just how dark it is deep in a cave. WTH? It's supposed to be a dark experience people -- not this is how dark it would be except for some moron has his cell phone screen lit up throwing off light.

Otherwise, a great tour of Meramec Caverns today. It was the first time in a cave -- other than industrial underground storage caves in the KC area that are manmade from limestone mining -- for DS14 and DS11 (that they can remember -- both were in show caves when they were much, much younger).
