Mixed Nuts Part 2

Had a scary moment right at midnight last night...I was dreaming that I was being strangled (I have some odd dreams). You know how sometimes your brain just knows that things aren't right? I distinctly remember waking up and realizing in that second that I wasn't breathing. After that, I couldn't stop coughing for at least 20 minutes. And no, I don't have sleep apnea.

On a lighter note...why do some people consider it odd for a 33-year-old woman to bring her lunch to work in a Pirates of the Caribbean lunchbox? I like my lunchbox...

Couples working together...

We allow it, in exact reply to those policies (not allowing couples to work together). None of the three of us partners had worked at places before where they allowed it, so it was a nice change of pace (and I guess we thought we were blazing a trail...)

My wife works here too. Our son works part-time over the summer for us. One of my partner's daughter's works here part-time over the summer too. The other partner's kids are too young still, but I anticipate we'll allow the same sort of thing with his kids as they get older. We had a couple of designers who worked here - they got married at the beginning of this summer (they had moved on from here before they tied the knot, but we all were invited to their wedding). We also have a couple of student interns right now making lovey-dovey eyes at each other. I don't know if that's a college-aged hookup thing or something more serious... Anyway, workplace romance is not exactly a problem here.

Sorry for the long-*** boring post last night.:hippie:

Probably not any odder than a 37-year-old male with a "Hello Kitty" lunchbox...:rolleyes1

It was given to me many, many years ago as a gag gift. My daughter has since claimed it for her very own...

Oh man, if I got one of those in that way, I would sooooooooo go to school to have lunch with my sons and take that lunchbox with me.

I eat the school lunch on the lovely trays dished up by the chicks in the hair nets. I pay 75 cents more than the children and get the same amount. That's okay though because I really don't want more.

Huh...the internet is a wonderful invention, isn't it?

I don't know if you guys knew or not, but my father and I stopped speaking to each other when I was 14, back in 1988. Just giving you the background, so you know why I'm not sad or affected by any of what's to follow. Some years ago, I checked the Social Security Death Index to find that my father's mother died in 2001. I started checking it regularly, to see about my father's father. To my shock, the day before my birthday 2 years ago, I found out my father had died.

Just checked it again - my grandfather died on May 15th. At least he made it to 90 years of age. None of my other grandparents lived to be 80, and my father had just turned 54 when he died.

Deaths come in threes, right? So who's next? We just went through that illness with the dog, but Mum says she's much better.

I dunno P&J. Yes, it pains me very much to admit that there is something I don't know.
As soon as I read this I was like yeah, well, he's gonna look it up. Then...what was your very next post? That's right, you looked it up. I will once again reference the tshirt.

well, good night folks, seems you have all left for the night. Sorry I missed ya!
Glad I got to talk to you for a few minutes and you survived the heat and made it home! I really don't know how it could be that much hotTer than it is here though.

Good Morning Nuts!

We've got a full English breakfast today!

Um hello. I seem to have neglected my posting duties here. :flower3:
:wave2: Duties? Really? We all have a duty to post here? How formal!

Maybe you were choking on a spider.

WOW. That's crazy. I'll give you a hug even if you're not sad.

What are you trying to say here?

Did you mean that you were like yeah, well, he's gonna look it up because I'm going to make him? If so, I understand the t-shirt reference...

Or did you mean that you have me so "well-trained" that you knew I would go ahead and look it up for you without you even having to "make me"?

Just because you're a hotT college chick doesn't mean that you always get your way. :rolleyes1

Y'all....I need some prayers said, please. I just got a call from my aunt's work. Apparently I was her emergency contact, who knew? Anyway, they wanted to know if I knew where she had been the past 2 days because they hadn't been able to get ahold of her. I talked to her last night around 11 but I didn't know what to tell them. They told me if I heard from her to just let them know because she didn't show up or call in on Wednesday or today.

So, as soon as I got off the phone with them I called my aunt who didn't pick up her home phone or cell, which is unusual for her. So then I called her daughter (my cousin) who said that her mom had told her she was at work.

My cousin had spent the night at her dad's house the last couple nights and when she came home this morning my aunt was gone. So, she hasn't seen my aunt in 3 days. No one can get ahold of her, she's not answering calls and no one has any idea where she is. Probably nothing to be concerned about, but I am. I just don't understand why she would not be going to work or calling in. When I talked to her last night she seemed a little strange and I kept asking her what was wrong and she just kept saing she was just tired. Something has to be up but I don't know what it is. She's been battling depression so I worry about her. I'm just sick over this. She needs to be okay.

Dang it. When I got that urge to post over here, I should've known something would be up.  Kidlet. I'm sure she's fine, maybe decided to take a couple days off and the managers didn't communicate. Did you call your parents to see if they've heard from her?

But then why did she tell her kid she was going to work? When I called my cousin today she was so confused when I told her her mom hadn't been going to work the past 2 days. She had no idea. If she was taking time off she would have known. It's just not right. She wouldn't have called my parents, they don't really talk.

OMG PJ. Certainly understandable why you are concerned. You and your aunt will both definitely be in my prayers. Hugs for you.

Today's my day off. :cool1:

 Maybe she took a little vacation and wanted to be left alone? WDW? Vegas? Keep us posted.
