So the three of us went swimming in the middle of the night on our last night in Disney. I wont describe it in detail because it was much like our other swim session. We played Monkey in the Middle with Crabopolis and somehow attracted a huge crowd of kids. I swam around to keep the weight of my almost blistered feet. We enjoyed the warmth and magic of the pool
. The palms swaying in the breeze, the lights from the pool bathing everything in a magical glow. Slowly we noticed that our crowd was diminishing as people called their kids in to go to bed.
We dont have to go in yet? Do we? do we dad? DS asked.
No we dont! We can sleep in tomorrow so we can stay out until you are tired. DH replied.
It was bittersweet- we could stay out all night because we were leaving in the morning. Our long awaited trip was almost over.
We only played a little while longer because we were long since wrinkled like prunes and I could see DS was quickly running out of energy. And he was way too big to carry back to the room. It was after midnight we got to the room and there, on the door
..
Was our bill.
What a let down. At least we could rip off the embarrassing thing before the neighbors noticed
that we had to leave Disney World.
I checked over the bill which was correct but contained a few surprises.
Someone failed to mention exactly how much he spent on pins. Did I include that he spent the day in his new pirates t-shirt and Disney World hat that he pimped up with bling in the form of pins????? (Historical note- we got the hat out yesterday to inspect the pins- one of them from that trip was Food Rocks- he bought pins to commemorate our favorite attractions and one for the All Stars- so the hat was something of a trip report in and of itself)
I kind of freaked out when I saw the total.
TwinkieDaddy calmed me down.
That is why we are such a great team. I was the one who wanted, campaigned for and budgeted for the trip. He however had no regrets for the money spent and pointed out that we were within budget from his rough estimates. We could do a final accounting when we got home. Anyway what is done is done.
So we showered and fell into bed and didnt even bother to have Mickey call the room.
I did notice that DS fell asleep smiling. The evening in the pool with his Dad and 20 other kids to play with was more magical to him than any ride or fireworks show. I was glad that we were here
together.
