Mixed Marriage 2: The Conversion Continues..... now complete

I think night time is very magical too. And late night swims. It is something we don't do at home so it is special. Still loving your reports. :)

Awwwww! That is the sweetest thing I've ever heard (all day).

You are the BEST mama ever! Do your kids realize how lucky they are?

I cant believe no-one has flamed you about your parking sit-chi-ation! I think if it was this recently it'd be a flamer!!!! I think I'll try it this trip, in THREE DAYS!!! Oh! ooops, we're bussing it. Anyone else care to test the flamability of parking at the Boardwalk? :stir:

Twinkie, I just love this Trip Report of yours! You are so funny and clever!
You are the best!

Love, Love, Love your trip report and style of writing. Enjoyed the 1st trip and I know I will enjoy this one. I am so excited for my first WDW with kids. I went 2 times myself as a kid, parents were divorced. Both times stayed off site...don't remember the magic details, but have a lot of great memories. I hope I can inspire my kids and some of your pixie dust flies :teleport: my way.

Twinkie, admit it! You knew just how to hold the precious Bag the Wrong Way...How sweet for DH to Take it off your hands :thumbsup2
Great will power when it comes to passing on the hair weaves,,,especially for your DH and DS!!!

Can't wait for more.........................................
:rolleyes1

I, too, am guilty of the "park-at-a-resort-all-day-jump-on-the-monorail", but I was younger then, easily influenced, 5 months pregnant, and my FIL told me to do it. How's that for an excuse.

As for the journey back to the value resort...there's just something about a 40 foot tall dalmation that screams WDW to me. I LOVE to walk throught the GF or Poly and think "someday, sans kids", but then I snap out of it. I do love the kitch shoved down my throat. We are a party of 5 now, so it's value no longer, but I'd take it in a heart beat if I could. :thumbsup2

Hi everyone! Haven't been able to DIS much lately (like TM, I am back at school, but unfortunately, I am on the OTHER side of the classroom...)

Great installments Twinkie Mama! (aka GOTPP-- Guardian of the Pooh Plate) I love the Women's Work post! So true!

Looks like I missed out on the quilted toga party (like I need any more "quilting" on this bod) and running amuck! (Does running amuck burn more calories than regular running? If so, I'm IN!)

And if big bangs come back, I am in big trouble! My hair will not, does not, won't ever hold curls! Frizz, yes. Hat head lingers for weeks. Cowlicks require a copious amount of styling product (or gunpowder & a match) before they will cooperate! But curly bangs? Not so much.

My old roommates at Ohio State used to wet their pants when after an hour of hot rolling, curling irons, etc, my hair looked like I had just ironed it flat a la 1969. :hippie:

Everyone was doing it. (No, mom if everyone jumped off a cliff or curled their hair into big poofy bangs in the late eighties I wouldn’t do it too)

I'd just like to say that's all i've got. Well that and the big curly hair to go with it. Humidity is not my friend. A flat iron and spray starch are however very welcome.Anytime. :thumbsup2

Great installments. :Pinkbounc

P.S. Thanks for the :grouphug: . Today was a much less cranky day. :woohoo:

Oh yes running amuck burns the calories of 2 mckey bars and a creme puff from France! So enjoy!

TM this is the bestissest TR! I can only hope to asipre to the great trip writers of the DIS (you, UM, Mel, Zzub, S'late ... and the list goes on .. or was that the beat .. hmmm). My DH is also detail oriented and can remember crap from years ago!

Yes-Mikayla is right... running amuck burns mucho calories. It is my only form of exercise these days. :yay:

luvmyboys- your whole post was too FUNNY! I loved it all- from the GOTPP to the hair description!

sharkb8- good excuse! be sure to add that the dog ate your homework and it will be perfect ;)

Goofy(since 71 anyways)- I admit nothing. ;) ;)

NAB, UM, and forever35- Thanks! You made my day- no my whole week. :cloud9:

:cloud9: You all are the bestest!

So the three of us went swimming in the middle of the night on our last night in Disney. I won’t describe it in detail because it was much like our other swim session. We played Monkey in the Middle with Crabopolis and somehow attracted a huge crowd of kids. I swam around to keep the weight of my almost blistered feet. We enjoyed the warmth and magic of the pool…. The palms swaying in the breeze, the lights from the pool bathing everything in a magical glow. Slowly we noticed that our crowd was diminishing as people called their kids in to go to bed.
“We don’t have to go in yet? Do we? do we dad?” DS asked.
“No we don’t! We can sleep in tomorrow so we can stay out until you are tired.” DH replied.
It was bittersweet- we could stay out all night because we were leaving in the morning. Our long awaited trip was almost over.
We only played a little while longer because we were long since wrinkled like prunes and I could see DS was quickly running out of energy. And he was way too big to carry back to the room. It was after midnight we got to the room and there, on the door…..

Was our bill.

What a let down. At least we could rip off the embarrassing thing before the neighbors noticed… that we had to leave Disney World.

I checked over the bill which was correct but contained a few surprises. :scared1:

Someone failed to mention exactly how much he spent on pins. Did I include that he spent the day in his new pirates t-shirt and Disney World hat that he pimped up with bling in the form of pins????? (Historical note- we got the hat out yesterday to inspect the pins- one of them from that trip was Food Rocks- he bought pins to commemorate our favorite attractions and one for the All Stars- so the hat was something of a trip report in and of itself)

I kind of freaked out when I saw the total.

TwinkieDaddy calmed me down.

That is why we are such a great team. I was the one who wanted, campaigned for and budgeted for the trip. He however had no regrets for the money spent and pointed out that we were within budget from his rough estimates. We could do a final accounting when we got home. Anyway what is done is done.

So we showered and fell into bed and didn’t even bother to have Mickey call the room.

I did notice that DS fell asleep smiling. The evening in the pool with his Dad and 20 other kids to play with was more “magical” to him than any ride or fireworks show. I was glad that we were here… together. pixiedust:

TM, I'm wiping the tears from my eyes - both of sorrow and joy! What a fantastical end to a wonderful time with your family :cloud9:
Bravo, Bravo, Bravo, Bravo!!!!!! TwinkieMam = storyteller extraordinaire :thumbsup2

I can't help but wonder, though..... is it really The End? Will there be an Epilogue?!

Awwww what a neat last night!! I love the pins thing. :goodvibes

Twinkiemama- I've been back from WDW for a week- but today is the first chance I had to get to the boards.
I just caught up with your report.... and I am so sorry to see your trip end- I want more, I need more, I have to have more!!!!!

I got goosebumps thinking of your little boy falling asleep with a smile on his face. Things like that really put life into perspective. I bet it was worth the cost of the trip just to have that one moment in time

I hope there will be more trippies coming, we're in 2006 now, and you have only brought us up to 2000 :confused3 There have to be more you can report on....please :worship:

Your TR is like reading a great novel that you hate to see end! So are we ready for TwinkieMama goes to Disney Part III! :bounce:

We are all waiting with bate breath! popcorn::

Will TM and family eat in the castle?
Did the china make it home intact?
Will TM become a world famous writer and forget all her Dis peeps?
Tune in next time to find out the answers to these and other pressing questions. :hourglass

The next morning we woke up and finished off the last of the pop tarts and juice boxes. Our cooler was empty and our hearts were full. We packed our stuff and loaded the car. We had discussed another trip to Downtown Disney but we slept late and I was still a little shell shocked from seeing all the room charges together in one place so I said let’s just forget it.

But I was outvoted.

We did a quick trip to the World of Disney because TwinkieDaddy didn’t feel that my plate was enough of a souvenir. He is so generous that way and I am glad I married him because I can be a bit of a Scrooge. After we escaped the clutches of the Disney Marketing Machine (only $49.22 poorer- I know I got a shirt that had the 2000 logo on it- where the zeros make a Mickey- not a t-shirt, a little fitted shirt from the Juniors dept in a Jumbo size, it was red- as for the rest, well I did stealthily buy a pin that said “Happy Father’s Day 2000” with Pluto on it but that doesn’t account for almost twenty bucks so I am sure that a couple of more pins were purchased by and for TwinkieDaddy)

We said goodbye to the World but not to our vacation because we then drove down to Clearwater to spend a couple of days with my grandfather. On the way back to NC, we stopped for a day at the Georgia/Florida border to see TwinkieDaddy’s best friend in the whole wide world. We made Low Country Boil and sat up all night on his porch remembering the good ol’ days (well they did the remembering, they are boyhood friends and I was the still relatively new wife) and the next day we went out in his little boat. Which broke down. But that is not a Disney related story. At all.

The final accounting revealed that the total the Twinkies spent on the Pre-Millennial Madness Tour was $1489.06 which means I squeaked in under the $1500 trip limit. This included cash spent for misc. food & beverage ($43) all the gas we bought for the entire trip (including side trips to Clearwater and GA) and money spent on food while in Georgia (Grandpa, of course, treated us the whole time we were there)… which I really didn’t think belonged in the Disney category but since I came in under budget I didn’t quibble.

However, it also included the three 5 Day Hoppers (two adults, one child) that were purchased. And we only went to the parks for 2 days….. so we had three whole days left for another trip. TwinkieDaddy prorated the tickets (don’t ask me how, he has the business degree) and calculated our actual expenses to be $1139.88. For the second time we have gone to Disney and spent less than we planned.

And my friends, that is how this trip report ends….

The Twinkie Family goes home and tells everyone (even if they are not interested) about what a great time they had and what a great value a Disney vacation can be…..

meanwhile those unused tickets burn a hole in my pocket.

Oh we will be back... but when?????

As a longtime lurker, I must say that this has been one of my favorite trippies to read! I can't wait until the next saga begins!!!!! Great job! Bravo!!! :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship:

I'm so sad....but I love your reports! They are wonderful.

Please tell us that between this most recent TwinkieParents trip and this last one, there were 1 or 2 in between! Either way, we will eagerly be waiting to hear more about your Twinkie Trips!

Great job TM!! Can't wait to find out one of these days when you will use those tickets!!
popcorn::

Great TR TM! I've really enjoyed it along with your first one. I can't wait to read more reports about going with the rest of your family. DH sounds like a really good guy and your family is just lovely! :thumbsup2

Now get working on the next TR.....Please! :rotfl2:
