Mixed Marriage 2: The Conversion Continues..... now complete

OK It's 6 am and I have lurked enough. I'll admit it, I am a disboards virgin and this is my first post. But I just couldn't help myself. You and Utahmama are the funniest writers I have ever seen on a board. (Not that I frequent many boards though until I found this one a few days ago it was weight watchers and nothing else...you are are far more interesting than the point value of a piece of toast lightly buttered with a smear of jelly...once of course the true definition of smear is established and the bread's nutritional content has been analyzed) Not that there's anything wrong with WW...it worked for me, but good lord people stop counting once in a while and eat the piece of toast, jelly and all.

But I digress back to you, I have to say, if there were a way to tie your posts into what I teach, I would have my students read your posts just to imitate your style. It is stellar! Well done. (ok that was very teachery sorry!)

I have found myself laughing outloud (much to the chagrin of my friend sitting in the other room....some people just don't appreciate written humor) and longing to be in disney when you are just to see the expression on your son's face.

Virgin poster confession #2...I leave for Disney in.....harumph wish I had one of those counters to figure it out ...ok in 10 days (wow I should pack soon) and while this is my 22nd Disney visit I have never felt like a first timer more than I did once I started reading the posts. I used to know tricks, inside scoop on where to go and when, the best places to eat, and when to book reservations. Sadly, I have been outwitted, outclassed, and outdisneyed by everyone visiting these boards. I am frantically taking down notes, trying desperately to get AD reservations (who knew the DDP deal they advertised would cause such a frenzy and the inability to get into our fav. restaurants.....who knew....you all that's who just not us!)

But there was a light at the end of my research (aside from the trip of course) this board kept me laughing through the whole thing. As I sat on hold while Mike the man from dining res. frantically tried to book dinner before 9:40 at night ANYWHERE, I laughed my, once able to show a feature film on but now down to a smaller documentary..thank you WW, butt off!

Please write more, Please travel more, Please tell us your faithful readers about your other children, DID YOU GET TO TAKE THE GIRLS TO THE CASTLE FOR A DINNER WITH CINDY???? That one was killing me sorry to yell. Please UTAHMAMA if you are reading this, change your dates and travel sooner I need an update and a good laugh.

Thanks for a great way to beat the heat this week! Happy writing.
:wave2: Where are you staying!! you'll be in the world at the same time as us... I may not be a Utahmama, or even a Twinkie, but I am a fan! Listen, when I stumbled across the Disboards last year before our vacation I suddenly realized that I knew absapositively NATTA about Disney... and I used to work there!!! I do believe that all New CM hires should be required to read these boards faithfully so that they are just as much in the KNOW as everyone here!! So welcome, glad you came out of Lurking! Your with family now... and we eat the toast AND jelly!! :grouphug:

I can vouch for that statement. Although it should have included, "I look at the DIS every night before I go to bed, before I put my kids down for a nap, after I put my kids down for a nap, before I go get the mail, after I go get the mail, before I eat, after I eat, while I eat..............

Great stuff as always :teeth:

Dont worry TwinkieDaddy my DF is a DIS widower aswell, perhaps they should be a DIS widower's site!

Pixie- We are staying at CS ( I believe that is the official dis boards acronym) and i can't wait. What about you? I loe love love Disney, but I am nowhere near educated enough on a place I have been to almost every year of my life.

Thanks for the welcome!

What the? There's a TwinkieDaddy now? It's like the Hostess funny farm now :p

WHAT, you ask, am I doing on the DIS on my anniversery? Because. We're going out to dinner and I thought I'd just "quickly" check the DIS... Great! TwinkieMama posted again, the nerve, and I gotta read! I love the alarm clock saga! Did you drag DS out by the ears in his PJ's to the theme park du jour?

I cant believe you forgot your snow parka in June! I also like the temp set at "south pole". Feels so good after sweating to the oldies all day!

Welcome to Twinkie's Room, Newbies!!!!! :dance3:
Love,
UtahMama

UtahMama,

You got it right. If it is going to be hot outside, it should be freezing inside when you return to the hotel. That electric bill is built into the room rate so you might as well use as much as you want.

TM - I'm still here and loving your report(s)!! No need to take us all firmly by the hand, believe me, where you go we will follow obediently behind!

As for the room temp thing, we go through the same thing. DH sneaks over and set it to "FRIGID" right before we leave the room so we return to an ice box. We live in Florida and we certainly don't keep the house that cold, so why we should keep the room that cold is beyond me. We always end up having thermostat wars, I turn it up, he turns it down, I turn it up........

Can't wait to hear the story about how your two princesses came to be and their first trip to the world (I have to assume since they are 4 that they have been there at least once).

I thought TwinkieMama's dh was Mortimer Mouse - Whos this TwinkieDaddy character?????? I am totally confused :confused3

I need to get on this board more - I'm missing stuff - real life can really cramp my style sometimes!

UtahMama - your anniversary was yesterday? Mine too - how long have you been married?

TwinkieMama --- Still LOVIN' this report --- can't wait for the 10 day trippie

I think I know the philosophy behind this one... My mom used to do this same thing when we lived in a pretty hot place. :sunny: It has something to do with the fact that at home you pay for how low the thermostat is set at, while at a hotel... well, the sky's the limits. I think my mom's plan was to store up as much gratis cool in her system as possible while on vacay, which would somehow help her survive the sweaty months at home. Hmmm, not sure it ever worked, but it made her feel better, so :confused3

TheRealMortimerMouse (TRRM) is my DH. Not to be confused with MortimerMouse which is apparently somebody's elses screen name. I don't know him/her at all.

TRMM was following this thread but not closely enough because he didn't realize I had outed him. (I couldn't be deceptive to my disboard friends! cliff hangers.. yes... deception...no) So the other day he logged on as TwinkieDadddy so he could make allegations about my alleged Disboard addiction, not that I am admitting that I have one. He says he will be TRMM in general but switch over to TwinkieDaddy when he feels he needs to set the record straight. Kind of like Clark Kent and Superman. Or Dr. Jekyl and Mr. Hide. Take your pick.

Oh yes now I understand completely you are married to both TRMM AND TwinkieDaddy :rotfl: Thanks for clearing that up!
