mixed info from Disney

hi, probably posting this in the wrong place so apologies if I have.

just wanted to have a little whinge, I phoned Disney U.K today to book our flights as its now 11 months from our return date, to be told by the Disney rep that that I could only book a place holder as they wont be able to give me times or airline until 7 months before our holiday. I said that we have always been able to book flights 11 months out and was able to choose my airline and time of flight, but she insisted this is not the case wasn't going to accept this so I phoned back and spoke to a different person and he said that was not true and it is 11 months out but I still had 3 days to go as my return date was the 23rd I said no we travel on the 3rd and return on the 20th, as I had altered it back in August, but even though the rep at the time said he had made the date changes he obviously hadnt

anyway long story short holiday dates altered email sent to confirm changed dates and told to phone Tues as the flights schedules will have been released.

its so frustrating to get such differing and conflicting info,

I think that its 9 months out that scheduled flights become bookable.

companies like virgin holidays have advanced access to virgin flights for example.

I had to change my dates as i got a quote for easter 2015 a few days before the 9 month window - then went back to book it a couple of days after they opened up and the price had gone though the roof as they were snapped up by everyone being able to get them.

WDW direct must have some prebooking ability to get get it at 11 months - just go to BA / virgin websites and you'll see you can't book that far out.

Well, at least YOU'RE on top of things Not sure about your side of the pond, but over here Disney is so spread out with call centers around the U.S. the communication with castmembers must be difficult. And let's face it, there are a LOT of moving parts to Disney trips. This is the reason there are so many books and websites related to Disney. It's rocket science.

hi Mac, sorry to disagree with you, but I looked on virgin yesterday and can book my flight with them now at 11 months out, the only reason I didn't book it directly with virgin is you have to pay in full but with Disney I only have to pay £50 pp with the balance due 70 days before the flight.
this has always been the way I have done it, until this tip so I'll see what happens Tue when I phone back.
