Mixed emotions about neighbors moving

Our favorite family and good friends told Hubby last night that they got a firm offer on their house and will be selling it and closing by the end of July and they are moving to Florida. We are happy for them because they have wanted this for several years, but we are so sad to see them leave. They are the best!
Guess I need to start planning their going away party, maybe a back yard bar-be-que. Cannot just let them leave the neighborhood without a good sendoff.
We will miss them terribly, but they told us that we have a place to stay when we visit Florida.
It has been a standing joke for many years that we would all retire to Florida together, guess they decided to get a head start.

Thats too bad. Why is everyone moving to Florida? My best friend just told me that she is moving to Florida in September. They don't have a job or a place, they are just going on the whim.

I know it's hard to say bye to friends. My best friend and her DH are thinking very seriously about moving to LA (we're in MA) and I know I'll be devasted when they go.
