Mitsukoshi Teppanyaki Dining Room

We are making our ADR and are SO DISSAPPOINTED that the Teppanyaki will be closed for reservations @ January 15th, so will not be available to us on our upcoming trip in a couple of weeks. Does anyone know if they ever postpone these closings? Do we have any hope? My guess is no chance, Disney is probably ding-doodle about their schedules, but any insight would be appreciated!!!

That closing date is probably pretty reliable. That's a pretty substantial rehab they're doing, taking several months, unless the encounter some unforeseen problem, in which case the rehab could be put off a while.

What? It's closing? I called today and made reservations for 8PM on January 24th. Why would the cast member make a reservation for a restaurant that will not be open? I'm so upset. Should I call back to confirm?

I hope they're not changing it too drastically with the rehab ... we love the set up and the food. It's one of our most favourite places to eat.

I think one objective with the rehab is to merge the Mat-Su-Noma Lounge space in with the main dining room, capitalizing on the view of the lagoon a bit better.

I called the DVC this morning to confirm this postponement, and what I was told is they are postponing the closing until mid-March. She did not tell me the new re-opening date. Keep your fingers crossed that it will open before you get there!!!

We just got our ADR -but I heard rumors that it was no longer part of the DDP-does anyone know if that's true????

So, now that I've made all my ADRs they postponed the rehab... Should I cancel one of the my choices and do Teppanyakki instead? I was thinking about trading out either Alfredo's or Concourse Steakhouse for it. Any suggestions?

UPDATE: Teppanyaki Restaurant in Epcot's Japan pavillion will be closed for a major rehab from 3/11/07 through 7/14/07. (Originally reported dates were January 15 - May 25, 2007.)

Good news on Mitsukoshi's- I just called disney today 1/17 and made a reservation for next week! They will not be closed! The CM told me that they will be closed in Feb. They had LOTS of choices for seating times!

Okay, okay I am being SO juvenile, but the countdown is on for us...6 days until we leave. Haven't been there for over 3 years...eating at Teppanyaki our first night in WDW thanks to the postponement. Talk with you all when we get back...VERY EXCITED, we need it! Take care.
