Misty Mate for heat relief??

I got a two pack a few years ago at costco and it was about $20. These things last forever and are way better at cooling you off that the fans with squirt bottles. They don't get you near as wet and the mist is much cooler (or at least it seems so.)

Also, my son absolutely loved it. He was 2 at the time and he loved moving the little nozzle back and forth to make it work. He didn't even break it. Total shock. Don't even pay the big bucks for these. I'm sure you can get them at a local store for pretty cheap, but the bandana things give me a brain freze and it hurts long after you take them off.

Have a great time. I would also suggest getting a couple if you're going with kids because they tend to fight over it if it is very hot or for the first few minutes of use or whenever the other one wants it.

Walmart has the Jr size for $10 and the regular size for $14. I purchased one of the Jrs to try it out (hot day at the zoo). We also bought one of the $5 mister bottles. The mistymate won hands down for the older members of our family, but we will stick to the squeeze bottle with the fan for my 3yo.

I went to buy several of the larger size (goes around the waist) and another Jr, but Walmart was sold out this weekend on the smaller ones. They are over by the lightbulbs and fans in my local store. I looked in the summer section first.

Now I am wanting to find out about those camelbak thingies.

Does anyone know how much of a difference there is between the Misty Mate and the Squeeze Breeze. I got a Squeeze Breeze, in lime green (the official color of the DIS) for less than $5.00. Actually, lime green was the only color they had at Walmart.

I bought a small one at Walgreens for $10. It has a clip that can fit on a belt etc. It will also fit in the water bottle holder on my fanny pack. I haven't used it yet but my friend has one and it sure is nice!!!

It's great! I'll pack it for when we go the first week in October and hopefully we wont need it, but if we do, I'll just strap it to the stroller!!

If you are talking about the camelback water hydration systems... and You can get them at Sports Authority - dh is a backpacker and a marathon runner so he has two!! One for running holds maybe a liter of water - it straps on like a fanny pack - and has a clear plastic tube that you get the water from the pak to you... dh isnt into ice water - and trust me on this point - do not pack ice water in your carry on luggage on the plane!! (who knew dh has sensitive stuff in *my* carry on?? DH just isnt an ice water fan - that I knew...

Anyway.. I bought those little 2cool fans... and then I read about these misty mates... I just went to Walmart and picked up a couple big ones
for 13.88.. What a steal.....
