Where are some places that sell misting fans (the personal hand-held kind)? Is one better than another? If you have used them, were they helpful? Thanks

Hi, Mlwear! Last August was our first summer trip to WDW & we didn't know how important the fans would be to us so we didn't really plan ahead. At WDW they are $20 each - or were last year, anyway....

They were necessary to us at any cost. It was sooooo hot and muggy & they really helped cool us off.

I have seen it posted that they sell them at Target and Walmart. Don't know which are better, but I know our $20 WDW fans broke by the end of our 10 day trip!!

I am going to have to look for them here before we leave for this trip - thanks for reminding me!!

Walmart had smaller misting fans for $2.97. They have a clip on them to hang on a beltloop. Yep, I chose the lime green!

What department in Walmart has these? I have looked and not seen them in ours.

They were just on a strip at the end of the aisle by the regular fans. Also saw a strip of them in with the summer dishes .

Oh man... a clipstrip? That means they could be ANYWHERE in the store. LOL. I'll just have to bug the employees :teeth:

Thanks for the fast reply! :goodvibes

Ugh. Searching Wal-Mart (employees seem to run away if they think you are going to ask for help at ours :rotfl:). Really my least favorite place to shop.
Other ideas, in case I can't find them in Wal-Mart?

I bought one at Walmart last month. It only worked for a short time on a brand new set of batteries and then wouldn't work so I returned it. I have bought the Disney ones and they've always worked great. If they do break or quit working, just go to one of the stands and they will exchange it for you. No problem. I also read on here somewhere that they will refill them for you with their icy water if you ask.

When I got my walmart one it was back in the area with the airconditioners at that time. Just save your receipt incase you get a bum one like I did!

I found misting fans! Bed Bath and Beyond. They are with the summer stuff. More expensive than at Wal-Mart. Mine were $7.99. I bought two and had my get $5 off if you spend $15 coupon, so not too bad. They have lime green, too. :cheer2:

I suggest you run, not walk to Walmart if that's where you're heading. There was ONE :maleficen and only one left at the store I went to. I had to settle for banana yellow and it was right next to the regular fans (after I checked in hardware first which is where the courtesy counter person told me to find it.) It was $4.97 and needs AA batteries. I was thrilled that I got the last one. Good luck! I hope you'll find what you need. :maleficen

I got ours at Wal-Mart and it turned into my best friend in WDW!!!! :goodvibes

I also bought 2 a couple of weeks ago (the $2.97 ones) for my kids for WDW. DH had me get him one a couple of days ago for when he went golfing. They weigh nothing with the water so you don't mind carrying them or clipping them to yourself.
Just remember extra batteries.

Do you thing these are something that would be needed in mid-late October? I'm just not sure what to expect weather wise...October19-22 :flower:

target has the big ones, I bought one and one small h2cool(what everyone been talking about) at wal-mart. and one plain hand held fan(that lights up at target) we will switch off fans.

Had a WALMART on last year and it broke the 2nd day there.....Bought one last week at Epcot 17.00...and it was the MOST VALUEABLE & GREATEST piece of equiptment I ever purchased!!!!!!!! WELL WORTH THE PRICE!

Also, if the WDW mister breaks, They will gladly replace it. These things do take quite a beating!

If you are there for 7 days how many batteries would you need? I would rather bring them from home than buy them at Disney

COOL BLAST WATER MISTER... i would add a link but im a newbie to the forum and it wont let me add links yet.. just google it if you are interested in looking at it..

I don't know if anyone has seen this kind of misting fan, but on my trip to Walmart today to get a regular one.. I stumbled on this one!
It works just like the ones you see going at many theme parks, and I tried it out and its great!! No batteries required, works on water pressure when you pump it... Any one else use these at WDW? I would be curious to know if they work well after a long day of use!!
