Mister Disney and the K-man's Easter Sunday V&A Chef Table Review

Thank you so much for a great review & a superbly entertaining thread!

I am still chuckling over MQuara's statement that she thinks she was a french chicken in another life...too funny

:worship: :worship: :worship: :worship: :worship:

Thank-you Mister Disney and Mr. D's K-Man for another awesome report :thumbsup2 It is easy to see as others have said the wonderful love and admiration you have for one another. Now I only wish I was going in October so I could join up on the Nosh Around the World 2006.

Just another thanks for taking the time to do all the reviews! I've loved them all! princess: :cheer2: :bride: :rotfl2: (My DD picked the stamps.)

You guys rock my world! I am hoping to get Chefs Table in April even if I have to sacrifice many cheeky squirrels to do it. Your food porn is the best! Until April rolls around, I will have to settle for Napa Rose at the Grand Californian.

Sooooo glad this worked out for you.

Mr. Disney and Kevin ,
Thanks for a wonderful ,sweet, report of your dinner at V&A. I am glad you shared the pictures and thoughts with us. I will be dinning there this summer
in September! :thumbsup2

For anyone interested: the physics of the coffee bong.

Water is placed in the bottom receptacle, ground coffee in the top one.
A spirit burner is placed underneath, the water boils and has no place to go but up and out -> into the top receptacle through the coffee where it stays to brew. In the mean time the burner is removed. The brewed coffee is now drawn down into the bottom receptacle (as a vacuum has now been created) and voila: Perfect Cona Coffee. Check out http://www.cona.co.uk/Business/Productsbusiness/BREWING.htm

The sytems have been around for ages, my mum used to use hers for dinner parties, fascinating process!

So now what's the physics with the Shackles!!???!???!

JJPenguin, Thank you so much for bailing me out here. :wizard: I certainly couldn't have explained it better. As for physics, I was very lucky that by RICH BROTHER was ahead of me in school and helped me as I struggled through Brother Mahoney's physics classes.

The physics of SHACKLES ... if I could figure that out ... I wouldn't be spending so much time in them. :rotfl2: :rotfl2: ... or would I?

NOW ... the physics of DESSERT ... that's a whole other story! :lmao: :lmao:

So guys... I know that this is one of those "if you have to ask you can't afford it" places...

BUT...
I have to ask...

Would I need to take out a second mortgage to experience this magic? :wizard:

Honestly? even with the 30% tip because of the extra effort everyone put into our experience, the bill for the 2 of us, which included 1 wine pairing and a "few" extra special ports was less than $400, certainly not bad for 4 1/2 hours of heaven! :cloud9:

WOW!! I'm shocked!! I thought it would be much more than that.

Thanks for sharing. You two are amazing. You have been a ray of sunshine during a VERY bad week. :grouphug:

Honestly, money didn't "buy" this Magic! :wizard:

As Mister Disney pointed out ... it's affordable to everyone. Think of how much a night out ... dinner, drinks, and good theatre tickets. By the time you're through ... you've spent 4 or 5 hours out together and about $400. You can also get the Chef's Table or even Dinner at V&A's for the same.

The Magic :wizard: ... that's frosting on the cake. Israel, Mark, Diane and all the staff at the Grand were in on a similar surprise for Mister Disney back in October. Unfortunately, we didn't get to write about it because #1 the pictures were lost, and #2, our lives suddenly went into fast forward with the sale of our old house and purchase and move into the new one ... all during the holidays.

Back in October, along with the concierge at the Grand, while he was napping, I arranged for some Magic :wizard: for Mister Disney during our dinner in the main restaurant. When I contacted Israel about setting up Magic for this trip, we were all joined up again, and knew we had the challenge of surpassing what had been done back in October.

We know how much work was involved in their making this night so Magical. :wizard: Our appreciation is handled through tipping ... not through the bill.

HEY ... WHO ARE YOU CALLING FOO FOO! :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao:

We may be of different demographics but we are NOT foo foo!

Macho :cool1: Macho :cool1: Man
:cool1: I've :cool1: Got :cool1: ME :cool1: a MACHO MAN :cool1:

NOW ... if you want to see FOO FOO ... you have to be here after Our Lady of the Manor has had 3 martinis and has the show tunes cranked up on the stereo! :rotfl2: :rotfl:

Actually, she's not foo foo. Her real name is Taffy Hybiscus Morin.
With love, we call her Taffy.

Hrmm... I've got a difficult choice to make now...

V&A or one of the big F&W events in October... unfortunately, my budget won't allow too much splurging, but we are going to be down there for a pre-celebration of our last few days in our 20's.... we both turn the big 3..0.. in October.

I hate having to factor in the cost of everything, but I guess that's just life... on the bright side though, I won't have any hotel or park ticket bills to pay (just airline and food!). Oh, and the DDE 20% discount would be nice for V&A (though doesn't work at the Chef's table)....

Anyway, what do you guys think... should I try for V&A or would you recommend a F&W event instead? (Although, I'm still wondering if DP would actually like the food at V&A... maybe they could whip him up a fancy burger and fries?!)... :confused3

UHM....tough choice.....We both LOVE V&A (diningroom or chef's tabl, doesn't matter) AND we also LOVE F&W Festival Party for the Senses.

They both run about the same price .......

That has to be the funniest proposal I have ever heard. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Thanks for the great review!

Have a great time in San Francisco guys, it truely is one of the most romantic cities. My wife and I did have trouble finding a good cup of coffee though. You might want to bring the bong. :rotfl2: One thing, we came back with a great souvenir that I think you won't get - it's a demographic thing. :goodvibes
