Mistakenly made ADR for 4 people instead of 5. Will they seat us?

Our family of 5, which includes our 2 yo, will be at WDW next week. Just this week I was able to get an ADR for Liberty Tree Tavern on Nov. 25. I was so excited to finally find availability that day (we had just changed our schedule a bit, so we didn't have any dining plans for that day), so I quickly grabbed the reservation. The problem is that I booked it for 4 people, not thinking that I should have booked for 5 even though our 2 yo is still free. I guess I was thinking of how he did not need to be included on any of our FP reservations, so I absent-mindedly did not include him on the dining reservation either.

I called Disney dining, and was told that I indeed should have included him on the ADR. Even though they do not charge for him, they end to account for every person in the restaurant. She tried to add him to the ADR (as I also did several times), but there is no longer any availability at the restaurant at any time of day. She told me to keep trying and that something may open up.

Should I cancel the existing ADR and just make other dining plans if I find nothing available? Or do you think they would work us in if we show up, explain, and ask nicely? Since we have to guarantee with credit card now, I am wondering if it is worth the risk.

That's a really busy time, so keep checking for a reservation for all of you. You could get turned away and charged the no-show fee. That said, I have yet to read a report from someone who was turned away.

I just wanted to wish you luck. It is possible you will be turned away, and if you are the no show fee will indeed be charged. Have you tried adding an ADR for 2 people around the same time, and asking both groups to be seated together?

Show up extra early for your meal, and see what they can do. Good luck!

Just wanted to update on this since I have seen several posts asking a similar question. I went to the LTT on our first MK day (Sunday) and explained the situation for our upcoming reservation on the following Tuesday. They tried to add my 2 yo to the reservation but could not due to no tables available (as had been my experience). They told me to just come on Tuesday and they would work us all in. We were even seated about an hour before our actual reservation when we found ourselves in Liberty Square and hungry earlier than anticipated. I think the stormy weather kept people away, so there were probably cancellations. We had a wonderful meal!

Very happy to hear everything worked out well for you.

As a bit of more information somewhat related to this thread. I am staying at the CR CL in May and I had the Itinerary Planning Office make my ADRs for me. One of the reservations I requested was for 3 adults at BOG at 6:00pm. Well they couldn't get that, so they made a 2 person reservation at 5:50pm and a 1 person reservation at 5:55pm. When I saw this, I called them and they said to show up at 5:40pm and show the CM our reservation and ask them to seat us together. Don't know if its going to work but I thought it might help someone in a similar situation.

I think more often than not, the CMs will try to accommodate people, they are in the hospitality business. As long as the request is not too outrageous.

They will accommodate if they can. The problem is, you don't know ahead of time if it will be possible or not. And now that they charge the $10 per person fee for not using your ADR there is a bit of a risk.

Any one have experience with Lunch BoG FP+ and having extra guests? I will be able to book it in advance for all of us staying in the room. However, my parents will be staying off site. If my parents want to join us, are they allowed to come in with us?
