Have you or any member of your party actually gotten sick on this ride? Not someone you saw or heard about but you or a member of your party?

Just thought I'd post a poll....people talk about seeing people get sick but I've never heard of even one person on this board who actually got sick.

So, let's vote!

Sick, as in vomiting? No. But extremely queasy, with a headache for the next 45 minutes? Yes. I watched the screen the whole time without closing my eyes and never moved my head, but I still felt horrible during the ride and for a long time afterward. I'm still glad I tried it, but I don't think I'll be doing it again.

I tried to edit my poll to add "somebody in my party felt sick but nobody got sick". If there's a moderator out there who can add that as a choice to my poll I'd appreciate it. If not, just post a reply I guess.

**I added your additional question. Hope that helps! :) Cleo**

GingerMommy!

I've ridden MS 3 times, both times I used Bonine before hand on a full stomach. First time I took 2 tablets with no side effects and the second time I took 1 tablet (again no side effects). Neither time did I remotely get sick on MS.

We will be down there at the same time! I'm trying to get to MS by about 4ish on Friday, do you want to meet up to ride?

I got the Bonine at Walmart, cheap for 8 tablets. This time I still will take one (not worth the chance of getting sick) since I am prone to motion sickness to begin with!

My DD(11) has an extreme vomit phobia...if anyone within 100 ft of her says they even feel sick, she dissappears into a cloud of dust as she makes her exit. We rode MS for the first time this past New Year's Eve...45 min. wait. By the time we were getting on, she was a nervous wreck. I told her she was only riding with us, none of us were going to get sick (of course her little 6yo sister making puke noises didn't help), and we had waited for 45 minutes and, yeah, we were all going to ride. She had a blast!! None of us had any ill effects at all!

We rode it twice - the first time neither DH or I had any problems. (I have a fear of hurling on motion simulator rides and Body Wars is the closest I've ever come to getting sick, but MS didn't bother me. )

We rode it a second time and I still didn't have any problem, but this time DH decided to ignore the suggestions to look straight ahead and was leaning his head forward and looking left and right - he felt queasy when we got off.

Oh no! Two votes for "I got sick"!

I'm still trying to decide whether or not to try this one in May.

Keep on voting.

Thanks!

This has nothing to do with Mission Space, but I really had to concentrate on not getting sick on Rockin Rollercoaster. I have yet to go on Mission Space, but I am willing to give it a try.

No, didn't get sick at all. I did feel much more dizzy watching Mickey's Philharmagic.

No one in our party got sick but someone that was in the car before us had. We didn't know it and when the ride got started our boys started feeling something wet on them. I guess it had been on the dashboard in front of them. When we got off, we told one of the CM's because we thought they might want to clean it up, and she sent us to the manager of the ride(whatever you call them). They took us to the big store near the ride and cleaned the boys up and gave them both new sets of clothes. They were really good about it. I would have gotten sick from having it on me. YUCK!!

I rode it last year and may do it again this trip (which is in a few days).

I didn't get sick as in wanting to puke, but I did get dizzy because I have an inner ear problem that causes me to have what's be called benign positional vertigo. I had to focus on the screen and not move my head. If I can get focused on something it usually causes the spinning to stop. If I had a little extra time before "lift off", I might have been able to overcome the dizzies.

Thought I'd bump this up for some more votes as my trip is getting nearer and I'm still debating.

Thanks!

The first time we rode, my DH (who is very sensitive to spinning - took a *lot* of convincing to get him to go on the Astro Orbitor!) felt a little woozy after we finished. He said he was starting to feel dizzy at 'lift off', but forced his eyes to focus on the screen and he was ok. Subsequent times we've ridden, he's had no problems.

I didn't feel any bad effects at all, but I did get queasy on Body Wars (the one and only time I rode it!) Just for comparison. :D

My husband and 10 yr old son went in Nov. They did not get sick but my husband said never again. My son loved it.
My son told me that I would get sick and that I should pass. He knows me well and I will take his advice. :p

I still have those wrist bands for seasickness from the Disney cruise from last year. I heard they may also help for rides. I am going to wear them on Mission Space and see if they help.

Has anybody ever tried these on theme park rides?

I, who do a summersault and feel like if I do 2 more I would be sick had no problems. My son who has no problems felt a little "off" not sick, but a little weird.

We rode it several times our last trip and none of us got sick and we didnt see anyone else get sick either.

Is there a height restriction on MS?????
My 5yo is a daredevil and has ridden rollercoasters before without any problems, but I've never tried him on a motion ride. This one sounds intense but fun.

 :smooth:
