Mission Space still open in PM?

I've been reading for weeks that Mission Space has been open from 4:00-9:00 M-F but I read a post from somebody just back who said it wasn't open when they were there. Have they shut it down or did they just keep missing it? Anybody there the week of July 14th who was able to ride it?

Mission:Space is currently open for previews. I've been told that it is open daily from 1pm to closing. I rode again today and they had both the single rider and stand-by queues open. They are now running 3 centrifuges - blue, gold and red - with one (green) yet to be put into active duty status.

We just returned from Epcot and we rode Mission Space at 3:45. It looked like it was opened all day. They had Fast Pass line open so I assume it must have been open for a while. We went in the stand by line and it said 60 minute wait but was only about 25 minutes.
This ride is great!! Let me warn you though, do not eat at least 90 minutes before you ride. The G forces you experience is intense.
It's a must do ride if you get the chance.

We went to Epcot on Tuesday, July 15 and Mission: Space was running but they weren't letting the public in; the CM said only CMs could ride before the official opening in August. My husband asked another CM and that CM said to come back Thursday at 4p.m. and it "might" be operating for all guests--sure enough, it was, and we got to ride!

It was fantastic; that's all I can say. I hope you get to ride. I don't think they have set days for testing; it's just hit or miss right now. Good luck!

Just got back home Sunday. We rode Mission:Space on Friday, July 18 around 6 or 6:30 with no wait. My DH and DS12 rode it first, then came out and dragged me on. I didn't think I'd like it, but it was pretty cool. Just keep your head back, and focus on the video screen in front of you and you won't even notice that you're spinning. Really neat ride.
Oh, and if you have little ones, or you don't think you want to ride, enter the gift shop at the exit - they have a neat area for little ones to play in the A/C and a computerized team game to play while you're waiting for your family to ride.

We were there on the 17th. If you talk to a CM OUTSIDE of Mission Space, they will tell you that the ride doesn't open until August. We talked to a CM INSIDE Mission Space, and he said they are now trying to open everyday around 1:00. He said they aren't supposed to be publicizing that they are open.

This site, and it's members are FANTASTIC!!! I was ready to redo our schedule (including PS's, difficult at this late date) just to make sure that we can do MS. But with the info from here I know that our chances of riding it are actually getting better. Thanks so much to everyone.

It was open both Friday and Saturday afternoon/evenings. We walked on about 8 p.m. Friday night and waited about 35 minutes at 4:30 p.m. Saturday. When you ask about future opening days, they will not tell you, but they will confirm that the store opens every day at 1 p.m.

We jsut returned last night.
We rode Mission Space last Wednesday at about 10am. There was a CM checking ids and telling guests that it was open only to resort guests. We walked up and rode it with NO wait. We went right back and had to wait less than 2 minutes.

I'm happpy to report that although I often suffer from motion sickness I didn't have any problem at all....and my kids, ages 7 and 9 LOVED it !!!

I forgot to mention in my previous post that the Mission Space CM also said it would be open at 8:00 on Wednesdays for Extra Magic Hour. Maybe on Wednesdays you have to be staying at a resort in order to ride it, but we weren't staying at a WDW resort and were able to ride it on Thursday.

He also mentioned that the "official" opening would take place before the 15th (I believe he said the 9th).

First off, Hello J&D!! I promise to post pics from the Illuminations Cruise (soon) !! Thanks to your wonderful tip about MS opening at 1pm we headed over on Saturday and rode with very minimal wait (less than 10 mins.). Lynn chickened out before we got to the front of the line, but Emily and I rode and she loved it, while I thought it was ok and felt a little queasy for about an hour after the ride. I think it's one of the rides I will like better after riding more times (Tower of Terror is this way). I suggest to give it a try and have fun - it's a great experience!

I'm sure glad our cruise wasn't on Friday night. That storm was horrible. Do you know if they even had the cruise and fireworks that night?

Glad you got to ride Mission Space. Did you get hot like I did?

While I didn't take a cruise, I know the fireworks at EPCOT did happen. We were in Germany when the lightning started and decided to try to beat the crowds and made a beeline for the buses. When we got back to CBR, the storm was terrible. But from our room, at 9:00, we caught a few of the fireworks. We were suprised to see any and really felt awful for anyone that stayed. What a frightening storm!

Wow! I can't believe they still had the fireworks that night. That was a pretty fierce storm. They usually cancel events at the slightest hint of bad weather.
