Ok, I'm just curious about riding mission space. I can ride any roller coaster, upside down or not, The Tower of Terror doesn't bother me, stuff like that I love. But quite honestly, I can't even ride the teacups, or star tours, lol.
How fast do you go and has anyone gotten ill from this ride?
Thanks!!:hyper:

I was worried about riding this as well. I never felt sick during or after the ride. I can't believe that it is a spinning ride. You never feel like you are spinning. With all this being said, I will probably never ride it again. It felt way too real to me and the take off completely freaked me out. I'm glad I rode it, but once was enough. My oldest son who is 9 hated this ride and couldn't wait to get off. However, he didn't feel sick. He just didn't like it. BTW, his favorite ride in all of WDW is Star Tours, but he did not like MS at all.

My dh and youngest son rode it twice in a row with only a 5 minute wait in between. Neither of them felt sick either time. They loved it! My dh who is really not into WDW and only goes for our boys came home telling everyone how great MS was. He's still talking about it a month later.

I stood by the exit for 15 minutes and never saw anyone come off looking sick. Most people were smiling.

Experienced it several times last week.

This is, IMO, the best attraction at WDW.

You do not ride it. You never move. It's a simulation that defies description.

Yes, you will feel weightlessness, and some sensation.
But if you can handle coasters, you'll have no problem with Mission Space whatosever. I didn't see anyone getting sick. Everyone I saw was completely blown away at how exciting this is!

Personally, I think all the talk about how terrible the reaction to this can be has all been overblown. And those incessant warnings are way too much.

Go on MISSION SPACE! You will love it!.

And you won't get sick!

You do move, you sit in a "capsule" and the "spoke" of a wheel. You are completely enclosed, but the way the get they feeling is to spin you around the spoke.

You may feel sick. I felt queasy about two minutes after getting off, but not at all on the ride - and I stayed queasy for a few minutes (nothing compared to morning sickness!). The ride is only four minutes, and I don't think you are "spinning" the whole time (I think the capsule rocks as well - like Star Tours - and you are looking at a little screen - like Star Tours, but smaller).

You should keep your eyes open and facing straight ahead. This will help with queasiness.

It was a fantastic ride. No one I saw coming off was actually "sick" - although I think other people felt a little queasy.

If you do decide to try it, have some soda crackers on hand to calm your tummy afterwards - and don't ride after a big meal. If you are anxious, go to the end and watch people coming off.

I agree that this is an awesome ride! I loved it and I'm not a big fan of thrill type rides!!

There seems to be no predicting who will get nausea and who won't. My DD who gets motion sickness from riding in the back of the car, felt no ill effects at all on Mission Space. On the other hand, my MIL who has never had motion sickness in her life, got nauseous. She began to feel sick about 5 min after getting off the ride.

BTW, Mousegears has Dramamine for sale behind the counter. I found that out while looking for some for MIL's nausea. It really did the trick, too! She felt fine in about an hour.

Thanks for the replies! I'll try it out once:) And then see how it goes:p
