Mission Space Question

Hey everyone,

I am curious is the new version of Mission Space will still be considered a thrill ride. On the mild scale, is it very or mild or not so mild.

Thanks for any info on this.

It is very very mild. If you are claustophobic (please forgive spelling) you will feel uncomfortable.

Agreed - there is very little space there.

I don't really remember the sensation of spinning/being pinned to your seat - I just remember feeling rather ill, whether it was due to the confined space or the sensation of spinning I'm not sure. I'll be skipping it this time, though, even with the green version. I think the whole appeal was the fact that it was a simulator and made you feel like you were blasting off - without that, it totally loses it's appeal for me.

The ride doesnt spin at all. You are still confined in fairly small cockpit, looking ahead at a small screen. Though the cockpit doesnt spin, it does rock back and forth a bit, in sequence with the images on the screen.

It's akin to a mildly more intense version of Star Tours. If you can handle that, you should be able to handle MS "green."

It is a great enhancement/alternative to the attraction. I found it quite similar in experience (without the 'strange' after-feeling) to the original (now orange) ride. I liked it a lot.

I was going to compare the movement to Star Tours too. :) It seemed very similar to me...except there are 4 individual screens and they are much closer to you.

I love the new version (the Green)! :Pinkbounc

It is like an active simulator -- there are some moments where you feel like you are really moving along -- but absolutely nothing like the harsher version.

I liken it to MGM's Star Tours.

DD 11 loved the first version of Mission Space, me and DH got very nauseated afterwards...oh boy! This was on our trip in -03, now this trip DD wanted to go on it again, we said" go ahead sweetie, we'll be waiting right here :rotfl2:

She went on green though and came out saying she should have done the "orange" (spinning) version, still she didn't go back on, we were back to Soarin again, love that ride!!

The comparisons to Star Tours helps me. Thanks for those responses. I have always skipped M:S because I didn't want to take the chance of feeling sick/weird the rest of the day. Maybe I'll try the new scaled-down version. I find Star Tours to be pretty mild

does everyone in your party have to do the same version? I've never done MS but the new version sounds cool. DH wants to try the old version.

I didn't like the original version, but rode the green version twice this summer. My 8 year old who loves this ride said she didn't see any difference (go figure) but wants to ride the orange version next summer with dad instead of the wimp version with me!

I get nauseated for hours after any rides that spin or simulator rides but tried the non spinning version and was fine afterwards..you do not get the same feeling at lift off as the original but it is a good alternative if you still want to do it....also the wait times are shorter!

We rode it last month and I hated it.

I am a healthy 31-year old and the force was so great on my chest that I had to struggle to breathe during "takeoff". The ride does spin very fast to create the desired effect. You do not see yourself spinning, however, and just feel the centrifrugal (sp?) force.

My 10-year old stepdaughter rode it twice due to baby swap priviliges and got sick the second time. I never get motion sickness, and I felt a little green afterwards.
