Mission Space - my review

Ok, so I love wild rides, and was anticipating going on this one. I went to Epcot on 3/14 and the single rider line only had a 30 minute wait. I was very nervous, especially with the ten billion postings and warnings they have about motion sickness. Although I was scared, I didn't back out. I saw that the ride went in a circular motion, but when you step inside of the pod and get your "flight instructions" and take off, you really don't feel as if you're spinning. The blast-off was amazing, and the ride itself was more along the lines of a simulator then a "spinning ride", in fact, I couldn't tell we were spinning at all. I'm sure some people do get sick on this ride, but I agree with many previous posters that the best thing to do is to keep your eyes straight ahead on the screen and don't move your head right to left. It's an experience more than a "ride" in my opinion.

Made me a little motion sick. I was definately glad there was no return flight FROM Mars. I think it would have done me in. I usually don't get sick on rides either. But this one had me a little queazy. I didn't even feel so good in the Universe of Energy cars afterward.

This attraction is truly an experience like no other. We took kids (5, 7, 7, 9) on the ride....think they were in shock afterward as they didn't have much to say about it.

For anyone who doesn't like enclosed spaces, Mission Space should definately be avoided. The spinning motion is felt as the force pulls you against your seat and not as spinning. We advised the kids to close their eyes if they didn't like the way it felt....bad idea as this causes further disorientation. Certainly a memorable experience but not a repeat for me and my kids.
