I was booking my FP+ today for 1/6 and Mission Space was under Tier 1. I suppose they are doing this because Soarin' is under rehab...

With Soarin' shut down...that's a huge amount of traffic that will spill over on to other rides. I'm not looking forward to seeing some of the wait times.

Disney, combine DHS and Epcot FP selections. This obviously will never happen but I think it's a good solution while both these parks are in such awful shape.

With Soarin' down, they should do away with the tier. EVERYBODY that still books FPs at EPCOT will book Test Track.

Making Mission Space a Tier 1 ride won't change that.

We will book DHS FP on our Epcot day.

My 2 cents. I would imagine the flaw is there won't be enough test track fast passes to cover the increased tier 1 demand. For those frustrated guests who don't get test track, a good many will probably feel obligated to select mission space and their attendance will spike. The standby line at most attractions will go up since they no longer have Soarin eating an hour to an hour and a half of time from some guests who were in the standby line. In general, Disney had to go this route because Epcot without Soarin over the Summer may have some serious capacity problems and may emulate DHS.

You have to remember that Frozen Fever will be coming on-line in May - which will most certainly draw the Tier 1 FP down from Test Track. Until then - especially Easter Break - this park will be pretty unbearable.

I'm wondering if attendance at Epcot will just take a huge hit. Lines for TT and MS will still probably be crazy, but I could see people skipping Epcot completely until Frozen opens, especially those with young kids. Either that or you will see an increase in park hoppers and people will simply do TT in the morning, and then hop somewhere else to use their FP+.

It will be interesting to see. I arrive the week Soarin goes down.

Taking Soarin' out of the Epcot equation really highlights the love that this park needs. It would not be as painful if Imagination were still what it once was, or if Horizons or Wonders of Life had remained open/current. Somebody needs to sit down and really rethink Future World going forward. They need to find better use for the pavilions they have and relaunch SOME sort of attraction within them.

I kind of went a step further and just postponed the whole trip until later in the year. It was not just because of Soarin and Frozen, but it was a piece of the puzzle. It just seems like overall April at Disney versus Fall at Disney maybe vastly different experience in 2016.

You are correct because you are also talking Rivers of Light and possibly the nighttime safari will be open by the fall. So that's two parks with expanded attractions. Combine that with Food and Wine and it really would justify waiting.

Yep. Big Thunder Mountain also was an unfortunate piece of news considering my daughter is 41 inches. Pulling this attraction out will not help MK crowds.

Wait - what about Big Thunder Mountain? I didn't know they had scheduled a closure for this?

I think that Epcot will continue to be unbearable after Frozen opens. I'm imagining huge crowds in a tiny World Showcase pavilion getting frustrated with crazy wait times but sticking them out. Then after their short ride and M&G finding little else to do in the rest of the park.

Well is will open during Flower and garden time which brings people in. Epcot may just think about running festivals year round to get people there.

Do those festivals appeal to the Frozen crowds though? I see that as mostly families with young kids.

Maybe Disney could add more characters. Or something.
