Mission: Space - Fun?/ Soarin' ?

I'm a thrill ride junkie, so Mission: Space Orange was awesome! I did not get nauseous at all, and it was tons of fun. I was with my little brother (13 at the time), my cousin who was 17 at the time and her little brother who was 14 at the time. We all loved it.

But then again, for us, the more loops the better.

It's a pretty interesting experience to feel like you're actually rocketing upwards. Tons of fun and would highly recommend if you're a thrill junkie. If not, then I don't recommend it.

Incidentally my cousin thought Soarin' was so boring and not worth the 2 hr wait. XD

Claustrophobia or fear of flying have nothing to do with how well one tolerates thrill rides. I can ride the silly silo, no problem with spinning as long as it's an open air attraction. Put me in a box and I will have a panic attack.

Motion sickness can be caused by a discrepancy between what the ears and the eyes experience. On a ride like Soarin, the eyes register motion. The ears realize there is no movement, and this disconnect creates nausea. Again, absolutely nothing to do with one's tolerance for thrill rides as on a roller coaster, both ears and eyes register movement.

I don't suffer from motion sickness but the one time I tried Mission Space I was quesy afterwards. Vowed to never do it again!

Soarin just relaxes me.

I did the Orange side over a decade ago on more than one trip and liked it. I think I actually rode it the first time back when there was no green side but were the same.

I did it last trip (for the first time in about 10 years) and I nearly threw up on the ride.

I have no idea what changed in me but I can't do that kind of "ride" any more. I was wrecked for the next 2 hours.

I'll never set foot near a centrifuge type ride again. Still love every other ride in the park though.

Oh and Soarin is still fun to me. Fun and relaxing. I can see if someone was afraid of heights how the could be freaked out by it though.

Pim going to attempt soarin on our trip this October. I'm scared of falling (not necessarily heights). Fingers crossed I won't be freaking out the whole time. I'm hoping fir the relaxing feeling!
