First - I get motion sick in cars, boats, and airplanes very easily.
Second - I DON'T like enclosed dark spaces.
Third - I LOVED Mission Space!!!!
Advice - Under NO circumstances even GLANCE to the sides or up or down! Fix your eyes STRAIGHT AHEAD at the monitor. I did this and felt NO motion whatsoever!!!!! Couldn't believe it! The pod was actually well lit with monitors etc. so it was not dark as I expected. Blast off was FANTASTIC! You can feel your skin being 'pulled' back! It was an instant face lift however temporary!
Again STARE STRAIGHT AHEAD and you will have a great time!

Great post - Thanks!

I was getting a little nervous reading some of the experiences here.
I LOVE roller coasters - but am not crazy about spinning around in circles:crazy:

Will definitely try it - just about a week from now!:bounce:

Additional info - I HATE rollercoasters! Rock 'n Rollercoaster terrified me! I refuse to go on Space Mountain EVER again - Star Tours and Body Wars made me nauseous from all the shake, rattle, and roll. But MISSION Space - I had NO adverse affects. Focus forward and it is an amazing experience. I WILL go back again!!!

Thanks for your advise. I was wondering if I should try this ride or not. I get motion sickness very easily. Now I know I can do the ride :teeth:

Ditto from me! I get motion sick very easily, but I loved Mission Space. It was so cool! If I hadn't *known* I was spinning, I wouldn't have known I was spinning, did that make sense?

I had more problems with motion sickness on the buses than on this ride! (no fault of anyone with purple pants, that's just how sensitive I am to motion.)

Laurie :)

Thanks for your info! I was getting a little worried myself reading all the other info on the sight. I had thought about taking Bonine but I tend to get sleepy which makes me even MORE sick if I'm doing something at the time. I am going to give it a try at least once! thanks again.

Minybear - You can DO it. Repeat after me - look STRAIGHT AHEAD!!
Laurie31 - I know EXACTLY what you mean - I didn't even know I was spinning at all! It is all in the focus I guess!

a small sidenote though, learned the hardway...if there's even a CHANCE of motion sickness on Mission Space, DO NOT go ride Body Wars right afterwards....I have a cast iron stomach usually, but did this and thought I was going to hurl my guts up halfway through BW, I'm not even sure how the ride ended, I was trying so hard not to be sick!! but I got over it quickly, but the joke of the rest of the day was that I would only go on things with no seatbelts, since no seatbelts=no sudden movements!

I can do Mission Space ride, I can do Mission Space ride. ppiews said I would be fine. ppiew said I would be fine:cool:. I think I got it. I will try it :). Thanks ppiew::yes::

Mission Space is one of the best rides at WDW. We really enjoyed. I get sea sick on cruises and I had no trouble on the ride itself. I was a little dizzy afterwards but that passed in hour or so.

I just rode Mission Space on Sunday!! Great attraction!!!! The singles line rocks!!!! I agree, do not look anywhere except straight!! The launch is awesome!!!! Towards the end, however, the whole sensation was starting to get to me just a little bit. I had to sit for a few minutes afterwards.

I then followed it up with Singles line on Test Track, oooops. Although, I didn't get sick, I had a major headache the rest of the day.

I would recommend NOT doing those two back to back. My recommendation for timing those two attractions in the morning would be to get a Fast Pass for Test Track, then go ride Mission: Space in the singles line, then go do something calm like Ellen's Adventure or Cranium Command, then do Test Track with your fast pass or do singles line on Test Track.

Thank you very much for the advice. I'll try this when I arrive at WDW this Saturday afternoon(I plan on heading straight for MS once we've settled in). I expect Epcot to be packed that Saturday due to the launch of the Food & Wine fest. MS should be very busy as well. I suppose I should Fast Pass it and come back after a stroll or two around World Showcase. I'm bringing my laptop so I'll post back at some point to let you know how I made out.
