Mission Impossible II-Updated p.15 #212~ The last day of our mini surprise trip.

many prayers, much luck and a ton of pixie dust for you and Tim and the kids..

Any word yet?

I hope all goes well, and that the news is good.

Beth

"I just can't wait to be king!" love the movie and that is JUST how you feel in Disney!!!!

praying for you guys! love nebo and smidgy:hug:

Hi, Tim came home Thursday morning. The surgery went well. They went in through his back and made about a 3 inch incision. He's back on the vicodin.

Now its the waiting game. He's got a follow up apt on the 18th. I'm guessing that's when we find out what's on his ribs.

Thanks to everyone for your prayers and thoughts and just for showing your support. You all have been incredible and I am so grateful.

Please keep in mind that this is a four day trip. We have 2 day base tickets with water parks and more options.

We can do 2 parks, and 2 other options, and we chose to do Typhoon Lagoon.

So, with our tickets in hand we are headed to the Magic Kingdom. We love the Magic Kingdom. We are all kids in this park. I picture myself with my daughters the same age and my husband just one of the boys. We love to ride the rides together and we are very competitive.

As we go through security I hand my clear plastic see through back pack to the guard and he holds it up praising me. “I love these kind of bags!” he says as if announcing it to all the non-conformists.

Our tickets were all accepted, mom and dad’s fingers scanned and we were in the Magic Kingdom. Immediately you could hear the music and smell the smells. Bliss!

Day1AirportandMagicKingdom011.jpg

They were really happy to be there, I just think they were adjusting to the heat. Check out the comfy double stroller of luxury. My girls were in the Cadillacs of all strollers.

Then we all pointed to castle
Day1AirportandMagicKingdom010.jpg

and ran up to a photopass photographer! Geeky, but that’s us.

The first on our list was Buzz but the line was huge. I told the fam to go fast pass Buzz and we’ll just go in Monster’s Inc. cause they are letting everyone in right now with no line. We haven’t done this attraction yet, sweet.

It was cute and oozed Disney and the best part for us was that the man in front of us was chosen for humiliation and Mal was in all the shots behind him.

When we walked out it was our fast pass time for Buzz. I couldn’t believe it was such a short time. So, we walked on to that and a miracle happened.

Matt beat my score. That’s some serious shooting! We are talking 100’s of thousands of points. I did have the baby on my lap and that’s all I’m saying about that.

When we go in December, my mom will have to hold the baby and then GAME ON MATT!!!!

We always walk through the Terrace Noodle Station and it's always closed. Has anyone ever eaten here? Of course I make them stop and pose for a picture.

Day1AirportandMagicKingdom022.jpg

We were getting close to our 3:45pm ADR at the Plaza Restaurant so I had the boys go and fastpass Space Mt. and we went to check in at the podium. At this time the afternoon parade was happening and in the melting heat we stood and watched while we waited for our table to be ready.

Look! He's waving right at ME!!!
Day1AirportandMagicKingdom019.jpg

I was starting to think I was developing Asthma, and I don’t mean that in a mean way to anyone who has it, but man is that heat and humidity thick this time of year. I was so worried about what the baby was feeling. She really was a trooper and never let on that it bothered her.

I think the wait was about 15 minutes and we were seated. They gave us 2 tables next to each other and I explained Matt has egg and peanut allergies and they brought the chef out to speak to me. He asked simply for a plain cheeseburger and fries. I got to read all the ingredients for each food item they would use to make his meal. I thought that was cool, for peace of mind. And because we were in the Plaza where they serve soda fountain treats, like ice cream and cookies, they have special treat for people with food allergies, in packaging that are free from most common food allergens.

Like eggs, nuts, diary, wheat, etc.

Now Zack was having issues with his food. He ordered chicken sticks and was expecting a non-healthy version of deep fried chicken when he got white pieces of chicken on a stick like a kabob. Mess with Zach’s food and his mood turns sour in 1.8 seconds. The waitress noticed he wasn’t eating his food and took his new order and in a few mintues he was back in the Disney spirit.

I forgot to mention that it was Mal’s birthday at the podium and they surprised me when they brought out her birthday cup cake, candle and song! Snap! I wasn’t ready for that and I didn’t get the right picture. I guess special requests when making dining ressies do get noticed.

We were so full after eating here. I only remember that Tim and I had sandwiches and fries and ice tea and it was all very good. The large portions at this place make it a very good value.

I had no room for desert, nor was it offered. I thought that was strange but ok.

Instead of gaining 10 pounds, I might have gained 11!

It was 5pm, the sun was shinning we had the whole night left to suck up as much Magic Kingdom as we possibly could.

Our next plan of attack was the boys using their Space Mt. fast passes, on full stomachs I know, and I took the girls to the TTA.

I just love this peaceful little ride. I love the view and how it takes you all over Tomorrow Land and the nerd in me squeals when I hear them paging Mr. Tom Morrow.

We met back up near Astro-Orbitor and Mal was on a mission to ride Goofy Barnstormer with her dad. When we went in 2006, the boys went to that other place that has rides, while my mom and I took Mal to the Magic Kingdom and hung out in Toontown.

I was shocked that she was tall enough to ride and went for it. Dad is the coaster person in the family and I almost didn’t have the heart to tell him Mal went on her first coaster without him.

Baby is sleeping now, finally, and I watch as they get in line and get the camera out. I am also watching the nice mean black looking clouds that are starting to threaten us overhead.
Day1AirportandMagicKingdom033.jpg

I tried to ignore them, but they just came in so fast and furious it was hard not to. The ride is over much faster, its almost funny.

Day1AirportandMagicKingdom032.jpg

I get to ride with Mal and while in line there are strikes of lighting and announcements that say something like, “Heavy rain and lightening may cause some rides to not run properly, be aware that some rides may have to close down. Thank you.” The looks I got from my two boys was heartbreaking.

Then the heavens opened up.

The kids really want to do Splash Mt. Why not, we are already wet. Let’s take the train.

Closed due to the rain.

Ok, I’ve experienced rain while on vacation in Disney. This will pass.

We just start walking and I suggest that we go to Philharmagic to get out of the rain.

40 minute wait.

We don’t do 40 minute waits. So, we fast passed it. We find a small awning and try to re-group. The boys are still begging to do Splash Mt.

We head from Fantasy Land to Frontier Land. It’s not raining hard, it’s downright pouring. Pouring so hard I can’t see through my glasses. A poncho would have done squat.

While we are walking I am seeing rides not running. Everyone is standing under cover. Not us. We’re on a mission. We want to ride rides and no amount of rain is gonna stop us.

Nothing is running.

Not even the inside rides.

Splash Mountain. Closed.

This is when it starts to effect the boys. It starts to sink in. Our one day in Magic Kingdom is coming to an end. They experienced 5 rides. It’s only 6pm.

Wait! I have a picture to take! Tim! I have to find the rocking chair. I know it’s over here.
Look! It’s over there! Will you please take my picture. I was the one who told everyone they had to do it; I HAVE to get my picture taken in this chair!

He knew NOT to say no.

So, the pavilion is full of people and all of the chairs are occupied. The one person I seek out and ask if I can sit in the chair just to take my picture, happens to be female, and pregnant.

Talk about feeling like a heal. (Now I can totally relate to your stories Nebs!)

But it was over in 5 seconds and here it is: Nebo’s chair!

Day1AirportandMagicKingdom035.jpg

Let’s try Prirates. They are waving everyone away. And if you can believe it, it started to rain even harder.

I don’t know how I found it, but as I was walking, blind, someone ushered me into a room with tables and chairs. A few minutes later I was handed a stack of napkins about a foot thick. He mumbled something about try to dry yourself off. I must have looked awful.

Glasses dry and with no more rain pouring down my face I was able to see that we were in El Pirata Y el Perico Restaurante. And I was also able to see this:

Day1AirportandMagicKingdom036.jpg

Day1AirportandMagicKingdom037.jpg

My kids walking in Ankle deep water.
No joke.
We set up camp with hopes that the rain would stop.

Nope.

Now this next decision was a very difficult decision for any parent. We decided to leave the Magic Kingdom. Hours before it closed.

My kids are freezing in this place. We are soaked to the bone with 35 degree airconditioning blowing on us. We just start to walk and head to the front of the park. We did stop along the way when I needed to see and this is when it started.

The crying. 4 of us.

Matt starts to shiver and cough. Like he’s really sick. I don’t like how he looks.

Zach is heartbroken about leaving the park. He doesn’t do leaving good if you can remember.
Mal is tired from no nap and is done. She can’t help but cry. The awesome cool stroller sucks when its wet and she has had all the rain she can take.

We just kept telling them, we are coming back in December. This is all just a bonus.

The baby is happy as a lark, sitting in her stroller waving to everyone passing us by.

I was the forth, but you couldn’t tell with all the rain.

I was hoping the time spent in the park waiting for the rain to end would ease our wait in lines for the buses. I’ve seen worse then what we experienced, and of course the rain was slowing down.

We were cold, wet and in need of some sleep.

I did get to try my first Dole Whip and I did not like it. Good thing it was on Disney's tab. Cause I might have been a bit more upset. But I don't think that was possible at that moment. Our first day in Disney ended up all wrong.

Up next: 50 pounds of wet stuff

Aww, I'm sad for you and your children - darn that rain! :sad1: I hope your evening ended on a much happier note!

Oh, Monica, what an awful decision to have to make.

We had that kind of rain when I took my DD rafting down the river. It was raining so hard that I couldn't see out of my glasses. I started to think, "what happens if there is lightning?" I am in/on the water, and the only shade is trees. :scared1: Not exactly a good thing with lightning. :sad2: Luckily, it was just rain, and it made for a memorable trip, so hopefully it will be a memory that you can all laugh about later.

I've never seen that much water in my life. I may be weird, but I think it is fun to be at Disney in the rain. Although, that was a bummer that even the inside rides were closed. :sad2: Of course being wet AND cold is another story.

Loved Mal's birthday treat! I'm gonna have to go around my b'day time sometime.

That was quite a luxurious ride your girls had. :cool2:

Oh, and praying that y'all find out that those spots were NOTHING to worry about tomorrow.

Pixie dust and prayers for you all today with Tims appointment. Hang in there!!

We have has trip like that with the rain, actually one trip it rained for 10 days..in..a..row..

We had ponchos from every park...and I had one of those pictures in ankle deep water. In front of Universal Studios....in ponchos, with the water over everyones ankles. And me taking a picture threatening everyone to smile (insert bad word) and look like you are having fun...

Ahh the memories...:rotfl:

Tim's biopsy report came back benign!!!

So many of you have been so wonderful to offer prayers and thoughts for us and I can't thank you all enough.

I am just so grateful.

I hope now that we can relax and put this all behind us.

He does have to see the Oncologist next week to get his take on the matter.

Today was just getting the results from the surgeon.

Again, thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Mony, first off, YAY on Tim's results! What a relief that must be for you!

That was a cute video of Mal's surprise. Dang the rain, was that during ST Fay? We did get an awful lot of rain for a few days. Sad that the boys were disappointed.

   on getting a picture in Nebo's chair! :thumbsup2

WOOT! on the great news from the doctor, Mony!!!

You asked if anyone had ever eaten at the Terrace Noodle Station. I did! I did! My girlfriends and I found it open during our trip in January 2007. What I had was OK. Nothing to write home about . . . I'd rate it about a 5.

I'm thinking I'd like to give the Plaza restaurant a try during my next trip. Maybe I should call to see if any ADRs are available. Loved seeing Mal getting a birthday treat!!!

So glad to hear the news about Tim. Sorry about the rained out day. We'll never forget one day at DL when both kids were in the stroller and it poured and the wind blew like crazy. DS was about 2 1/2, and as we walked out to the parking lot, he just kept shivering and saying, "Please Daddy, I want some..." We never found out what he wanted, but I was afraid we broke him.:rotfl:

Look! He's waving right at ME!!!

I took the girls to the TTA.

It was inbetween hurricanes. I think because you got so much rain before we got there the ground as already saturated and the water had no where to go, also, it might have been the level of the ground cause it wasn't like that everywhere.

WOO HOO TO TIM!!!!! (and you to Monica):grouphug:

Thanks! Really.:goodvibes

she looks so thrilled! :goodvibes

 that's just horrible!!!!!!

i hope the weather gets better for you guys!!!

i already said something on the peeps thread, but i'm so glad to hear the good news about tim. :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

Thanks Dawn, that was a crazy rain with lots of lightning stricks. Some were really loud, even scary.

Hallelujah! That is just absolutely wonderful news  Thank you for updating - I was waiting to see a great update on this :woohoo:

L3! Thank you for your concern as well.

It's really cozy, soda shopish feel. The staff was very attentive too.

If it wasn't for them being so cold and shivering, we'd have probably stuck it out. But my momma senses said, call it quits.

I can't believe the water! never saw it like that! at least you got to remind them, you have a trip coming up!:dance3:

Exactly!:thumbsup2 That was all just a bonus but in the wrong order.:upsidedow

Way cool about Tim. Way cool, I knew it all along, if not then I was going to switch "Deity Providers." And you know how hard it is to cancel your old service! But it looks like the power of prayer has helped.

Plus, you stuck to your guns, and had the picture taken, congrats, although I liked my story better, on how you missed a night in the castle by having to do it. And man, that is some rainfall, what strikes me funny is that of our 13 trips to Disney, the one we took in early sept in 03 was the dryest one of all. For an 8 night stay it rained one evening at Pleasure Island for 15 minutes, that was it for the entire trip.

I do agree that there is nothing worse than being soaked and cold at the same time, if you go indoors, the AC will freeze you back out. The worst T-storm I was EVER in was at Epcot during Illuminations. The thunder drowned out the fireworks, , which I couldn't see anyway with the useless glasses without wiper blades. Smidgy had to lead me by hand back to the Dolphin, led me right into a two foot "puddle", either that or it was the channel, and the poncho was just shredded by the time I got inside.
El Pirata D'Pericho, or something like that where you waited used to be one of our favorite eateries in MK, but now it's usually closed when we are there, I remember when I was really cheap, splitting an order of taco's there with her. Yeah, yeah, I'm still cheap, just not "really" cheap.

Ok, sorry, running off again at the mouth, nice picture Monica in the chair, let's see if we can get more to follow. By the way, have you clipped any of my vike stories for Tim? Bet he could understand them now. :woohoo:

When he started taking them, I was waiting for something, anything!

Nothing.

I figured he was doing it wrong when I realized there wasn't a Sunny D bottle in his hand.

But when they gave him Dilaudid in the hospital and flushed it through his IV, in seconds he was a groovy space cadet. He made me crazy cause one second you are engaged in conversation and one second later he'd fall asleep in mid sentence.

SEE?! what I deal with? my glasses don't have wipers, either,...HE walks into a puddle(and there are puddles EVERYWHERE and I can BARELY see myself) but "I" led him into a 2 foot puddle?! (in retrospect, I should've gone for the channel after all!:rotfl: )

one time son#2 burned his feet really bad with hot water with bleach(cleaning a floor at the pizza joint). they gave him some really good drugs at the ER. someone had hung their dark coat over an oxygen tank, just outside his "cubicle".
he went from screaming in pain to... "mom,,, cool... look.. it's the grim reaper, coming to get me.... cool"
