Missing the bus...

I have an 8:50 reservation at Boma, and will (hopefully) be staying at VWL. What is the best way to get back, and is there any chance of missing the bus/boat??

If you can find a park that has EMH's that morning, take the bus to that park, and then transfer to the AKL bus. If there aren't any parks with EMH that morning, be out at the bus stop by 8am. Take the bus to AK, and then transfer to the AKL bus there. Ask the bus driver if there will be buses going to AKL from AK pretty regularly when you get to AK. The driver may opt to drop you off at AKL either before or after he gets to AK.
There is always a chance of missing a boat or bus..but there will be another one coming along within 20 or less minutes. Plan to leave plenty of time when going from resort to resort.
Your other option is to take a cab..that would be fastest.

8:50 a.m. or 8:50 p.m.?

Whenever traveling from one resort to another (except when both are Monorail resorts or both are in walking distance from each other), you need to transfer at a theme park or Downtown Disney.

Usually the easiest and quickest way to do this is a cab. There are always ones parked outside the resorts.

How late do the buses run? I'm fine with taking the bus from AKL to one of the parks, and then back to VWL. I'm just worried about being at dinner too late, and then missing the bus back to VWL.
Does anyone know how much a cab would cost from AKL to VWL?

After dinner take the bus to Downtown Disney marketplace then transfer to Wilderness Lodge. These buses run until about 2:00am.

The cab should be approx $20 + tip. It's a 7.5 mile trip, assuming the driver doesn't take the scenic route. Trip should take 15-20 min.

If you bus back via DTD it will probably take approx 1 1/2 hr min depending on how long you have to wait for buses at each location.

There is always a way with Disney Transportation. They never leave you stranded.

So, you'll be getting out around 10-ish?

Check whether there is a park open that late for any reason, including EMH or a MNSSHP. If there is, the buses will still be running to that park from the resorts, and you can transfer there. Any of the 4 parks is "on the way" between AKL and WL.

If none of them are open when you finish, you'll have to take the bus to DTD to transfer there. Although buses do run from DTD until 2 a.m., I think service to DTD may be sporadic after midnight or so.

I've taken the pop to AK and then traveled to AKL from there and let me say the chances of making it in a realistic time is low in the morning. Evenings have more frequent buses back to AKL so it's ok.
