I think it is a personal choice.

I know required testing doesn't start until 2nd or 3rd grade around here....so removing a child from school in the grades earlier than that won't really have an impact.

Hi! We just went this May and took our 4th grader out of school for a week. The teachers had no problem with this, and they said that the last few weeks of school, they don't do much anyways. It may be more of a problem with older kids that have to take finals and such, but for a kindergartener it should be just fine! May is a wonderful time to go. The weather is great, and the parks aren't too crowded. I think the most we ever waited in a line was 20 min. Have a great time!
