My DD (12 yrs old I must add) is just about finished with a 1000 piece mickey mouse photomosaics puzzle and she thinks she is missing a piece~now what do we do?? I wanted to frame it for her. I look at the puzzle and still can't believe she built this on her own.

Since it is one of the photo mosaics - you might be able to photo copy another piece that's close in color, etc. to the missing piece - a good quality color copy and try to "piece" it in. Since you want to frame it - it might be close enough to work. Congrats to your DD on this accomplishment - mine still sits in the box - staring at me - daring me to get started!

I had one of those puzzles too.

It was missing 3 pieces:headache:

Ever get one of those 200 piece disney puzzles. You know the that's only 200 pieces so it is a piece of cake.

Until you realize all the pieces are almost the same. Enough difference to drive you crazy!!!

That stinks. :headache:

My brother has 5 y/o twin sons. One is a puzzle whiz, he does 50 to 100 piece puzzles like they are nothing--I even had him do one upside down on the blank side to see if he could do it. He could! :thumbsup2 The other one can't do them so he likes to take the pieces and hide them. :lmao:

3d cinderella's castle! 1,000 peices..... NOT even out of the box, gosh were lazy college students

Which one do you have? We did the one of Mickey leaning on a table, but there is one of him in front of the castle too. Lots of work!!! I kept thinking as we got closer that there was a piece missing too, but we did have them all.

Anyways, if you do have some gone ours came with a paper inside and I think if you check that there is a place to contact to get missing pieces.

We have two more Disney ones waiting to do, we frame ours as well.

I also had one that was missing two pieces. I think it's pretty common.

Last year when DH and I were working on a 1000 piece vintage puzzle of St Augustine, our (new at that time) dog chewed up two pieces, one completely. We were luckily able to find the same puzzle on Ebay and get the missing piece which was not an exact match pattern-wise (although the shape was fine), but close enough! We ended up using the not-quite-as-thoroughly-chewed peice, though, and it looks fine.

We still have the second puzzle in a box and will not throw it away until we get our completed puzzle matted and framed. :thumbsup2

Just wondering which photomosaic puzzle it is that your daughter is working on?

I did the one with Mickey leaning on a stump and had the same problem that she did. Many of the pieces are repeat shots, so really pay attention that each piece is in its correct place. I had one piece in the wrong place, but it looked like it should have fit based on the picture. This one wrong piece caused a whole row to be shifted over and it seemed as if pieces were missing. If you double check, this may be the problem.

Congrats to your daughter on finishing the puzzle - I know how much patience it requires! :)
