Missing a Lunch P.S.

Has anyone had a lunch PS and couldn't make it for whatever reason? If you are in a park how would you cancel your PS or would you just ignore it?

That has happened a couple of times for me. I try and either stop by the restaurant, stop by the main building in one of the parks or call Dining to let them know I need to cancel.

You can either go the restaurant in question and cancel your ps, or if you are in MK you can cancel it at City Hall or from any park dial *88 from any payphone and you will be connected to Disney Dining Toll free.

I didn't know that if you are in the parks you can use the pay phone and dial 88 to get dining. That helps.

Not many folks know this, but there is a holding cell in the staging area of World Showcase. This is used to jail folks that ignore their Priority Seating time. I can't say forsure, but there has been reports of families going home without a loved one. It has been rumored this is where Universal gets their employees...

Please don't let this happen to you.

What's the latest you can cancel? What if it is approaching your PS and you just can't make it or just aren't hungry? Hour before? Less? I ask because I am worried about a couple of lunch PS that runs the possibility that we won't make it. I don't want to go to jail. (nor work at US)

It's also 55 from your resort room. I canceled a lunch PS at Mexico last week and switched it to Canada that morning.

It's considered good manners to cancel a PS <i>if you can</i> - but I certainly wouldn't worry overmuch if I couldn't. All you've done is agreed to turn up at a time at the restaurant where they'll give you the first available table so the whole system is designed to deal with no-shows. That's what makes it a Priority Seating and NOT a reservation.
