I rented a few disney movies last night... we watched POTC last night and noticed a few scenes from the jail cell that were on the potc ride at MK, so that was cool. Does anyone go more than once a year and if so do you get burned out from going to Disney, I was thinking of maybe going in march for 4 days but I dont want it to get old. 1 year seems way too long to have to wait for another trip. thanks

I feel your pain. We took our first Disney family trip to Disneyland in March 2003; Disneyland Paris in March 2004; then 10 terrific days at WDW in May/June 2005. I had an AP that I bought for the room discount. I fully expected to upgrade everyone else to an AP while we were there. I made reservations at AKL in August 2004 for Thanksgiving week 2005. I was also hoping for spring break 2006.

But then when we were at WDW, DH didn't want to upgrade to APs, because his attitude is "Well, now we've done Disney. Don't need to do that again." And of course, I can't blame him...3 Disney parks in 3 years, 10 days at WDW. Anyone but the biggest fan would have had enough Disney by then...but I'm still disappointed and it's hard for me to get into planning a trip anywhere else.

(Boy you edited your message a lot from the message I was responding to!)

I once thought that we might "wear-it-out" thru repetitive visits...
but we bought Annual Passes in 2003 and went to WDW from the Kansas City area 3 times that year, First: 10 days, Second: 9 Days, Third: 10 Days (a total of 29 days at WDW in 2003.)

And we had a BLAST each time!

So... we bought AP's in Feb. of this year and (so far) we've been twice.

We are usually once-a-year guests (for 10 or 11 days each trip).

I have used these "frequent" re-visits to judge that, "NO! It doesn't wear out!"

Go as often as you can and ENJOY it!

Hi Shiftgreen, reading what your post made me smile,I understand exactly what you mean. :Pinkbounc
we are a family from the UK, we first felt the magic of Disney in 1990 and are about to go back for our 10th visit, we have left big gaps between visits (once 5 years) but recently we have been going at least twice a year for 2 - 3 weeks at a time. we spent 18 days there in June and we are going back for another 2 weeks on November 27th. :Pinkbounc
We used to go with our 2 daughters but now they are grown so we go as a couple and love it more each time we go.
We try to do something different each time, maybe the illuminations or wishes cruise, just eating somewhere different, trying different Disney resorts. I don't think you will ever get burned out from going to Disney too often, there is always something new to see and do, enjoy yourself and your love of all things Disney. I find starting to plan the next trip is the best cure for post Disney blues. :Pinkbounc

missypie .. yea I thought it was too much reading for people, and made me sound pathetic.

I had to take off an extra 2 days just so I can get back into the change of things and go on here and look around since I just found this site before I went to Orlando.

Anyway thanks for the responses, honestly I think b/c me and my wife only go for 5-6 days rather than 10 days or more so it goes by much faster.
We are still kinda young so we cant afford staying too much longer unfortuantly, and next year we are hopefully getting house. I hope and pray that wont keep me from coming, or else i'll be figuring out what I can sell on ebay.

Go whenever you can. I don't think most of us really ever get tired of visiting. There is always something new, something you missed, hidden Mickeys to hunt, VMK quests to do. I have seen a lot of things I had never seen before this year. I am fortunate to live only about an hour away and go 2-3 times a month for 1-5 days at a time, depending on my days off. I feel like I live on Main Street USA, the people there know my name. They become your friends, and who could as for more that that. I have been lucky enough to meet some of the behind the scenes people as well.

Well, within the last 12 months we have gone three times. We were there for a Sat to Sat trip in Sept 04, We were threre for a Sat to Fri trip in Jan 05 we did a 5night trip in June 05 and we will be back in Nov of 06 for a Sat to Sat and we are booked for Jan 06 for a Sat to Fri.

We love it and since we go so often we are never rushed and just relax and enjoy table service dinners and different tours and other things.

We live seven and a half hour north. We've been over 40 times. In 2005, we have so far done the following trips -

April for just the weekend to see Davy Jones and ride Soarin' during the Annual Passholder previews. Stayed at Pop Century.

May for Memorial Day since we had a three day weekend. Stayed at All Star Movies.

July for Fourth of July since we had a three day weekend. Stayed at Port Orleans French Quarter.

September for Labor Day since we had a three day weekend. Stayed at Caribbean Beach.

October (last weekend) for a weekend just for the Food & Wine Festival. Stayed offsite.

Next up - hopefully Christmas. I go through withdrawals if I go more than two months without a trip.

No, we don't get tired of it because we find something new to do every time. We don't intentionally do that but there's always something that's a new experience. I had vowed to do Disney World every three years. That's changed to every three months. So no, it doesn't grow old for us. We're in our early forties with no kids at home.

I know just how you feel. We're going on a cruise in 3 weeks ( not on DCL dang it ) and I have no desire to plan anything. Been booked for a year and I've read some stuff, visited a few sites and tried to get into it, just not feelin particularly excited. I am grateful for the opportunity to go and I will appreciate the experience but it's just not the same.
Were I this close to a WDW trip I'd have both a real world and cyber file folder going, full of info and I'd be, to quote Dickens, "As giddy as a school girl."
Just recently booked a quick 3 day December trip to WDW and I'm having a blast planning, reading these boards and visiting other WDW sites. My DH has finally caught on to the fact that I'm most happy when planning and anticipating a WDW trip. Said trip can be a year away and it doesn't matter. Just have to know that there's one booked and I'm happy as can be!

HI we live in the uk and ever since our first trip to disney we have been on a never ending quest of searching for the best price flights so we can book more trips to disney(Swimming might have to become an option :teeth: ) we we're there in july for 21 nights have a week booked for december and 16 nights booked for august2006. we have three boys who love disney the theme parks here just dont cut it for them any more so our lives revolve around the premiership football season and trips to disney . :sunny:
