Hey everyone!
We have a plan to be at Disney Dec 5-9, with Dec. 7 at HS. Our plan is to rope drop to Toy Story Land to meet characters and ride Alien Swirling Saucers. We didn't FP Alien Swirling Saucers because we didn't think it would be too bad... but now ROR has me wondering if that was a mistake. We made FP instead for ToT and RnRc.
Should we switch that to Alien since that's the must do for the kids? I'm afraid the rope drop crowd may be unmanageable...

Have you ridden it before? IMO, it's a pretty underwhelming ride. Regardless, if you rope drop DHS, I highly doubt most of the rope droppers would be heading for that ride. I'd leave it as is.

A quick look at MDE right now shows the wait at 15 mins, vs 40 and 65 for ToT and RnRc.

Fyi, the park will likely open hours before official time. For SWGE the park was supposed to open at 6am and they opened at 4am. So by official rope drop time you might have a lot of people inside dhs already, not necessarily at tsland but some might head that way earlier than planned

Alien's isn't a high demand ride. I wouldn't waste a big FP on it.

i have! I agree, but My kids love it.

At rope drop you will be about the only one blazing a trail to AS2. The only question is how many times in a row can you ride it before somebody else shows up.

hahaha! My question is also will getting into the park for rope drop be craziness?!

Even if it’s a must do you REALLY don’t need to rope drop it. I have never used a fast pass for it. Compared to the other rides it’s line is usually very manageable.

Rope drop will be crazy but there is no reason for you to be part of it if you are going to swirling saucers first. Arrive about 30 min before opening and get in the back of the masses. Nobody knows for sure but they usually start walking everyone into the park about 20 minutes before actual opening time. 75% will head to Galaxy Edge, 20% to TSL and 5% to RnR/ToT. The vast majority in TSL will go to SDD and some to TSMM. Those heading to AS2 will include you and those that are lost. Enjoy your solo ride.

We will be there the same dates! Attempting Hollywood studios the 6th. I’m more wondering how you were able to book both tower of terror and rockin roller coasters?

Oh, fun! It's usually a great week to go! I booked both because we have four adults and four children. We likely won't be able to do them all but we can use rider swap if we need to.

Thanks for that! I love it. Anyone know what meeting characters at TSL is like? Should we do that then AS2?

And by that I mean I booked some of us on one and some on the other and we'll just see how that goes ;)
I didn’t know if I missed something and they changed the awful tiering system. Even went in to try to change my useless frozen singalong fast pass this morning 🤣 wishful thinking

The character lines can get long, especially for Woody. If you are interested is TSMM I would do that first, then AS2, then meet Woody. If not, go AS2 then Woody.
This is good advice. The rides will usually start running prior to the actual park opening time. Woody and Bo will not start taking photos until the actual opening time, so you would be wasting time getting in line way early. However, the Woody/Bo photo op gets a pretty good wait going and it is constant throughout the day so about 5 minutes before park opening time, I would get in line. Once people see Woody and Bo strolling through TSL to the picture spot, there will be a rush to the photo spot. Buzz is at the entrance to TSL and is usually less of a wait. You can get him on your way out.

Rider swap only works if everyone has a FP or everyone is in standby.
