Now I have to stop my tears. She is a lucky dog to have such loving & caring parents. I am sure you will give her lots of love as she gives you.

Kathy, great to hear the good news about Cookie!! I know you are thrilled to still have some more quality time with her. Those inner ear infections can be a tough thing for dogs. We have been fighting one with Samson, our 6 year old chocolate lab for a few months.

I have been so busy lately... I am just trying to get caught up on dis. I think I already mentioned it...but in case I didn't... I am so glad to hear Cookie was able to come home. I know that must have hurt your heart quite a bit before you knew she could.

I never leave my Oliver at a kennel...I have a couple of friends who will take him if my daughter Megan is not available,\. Next weekend we are all going to Maine for my husband's birthday and my good friend is taking Oliver for me.

Yay! for your flight change and the great company on DME, so happy that worked out! Now on to dinner at WPE. We really enjoy eating there too.

I've only eaten there once and that was with Mary and the girls last year and I had the pizza...it was pretty darn good.

I hope you enjoy our Beach Club. It was our first DVC purchase and is our favorite. I really think each resort has something special to offer it's guests and we enjoy the occasional stay at other resorts but coming back to Beach Club is like going home to us.

I am sure I will...I've been wanting to try it for years.

The 8th is when we return from our Fantasy Cruise. We will come straight to Beach Club and check in, then will most likely go on a grocery run. I hope we see you girls out by the pool in the afternoon.

That would be awesome to see you at the pool that afternoon.

I'll bet you have fun at DHS, SWW is really fun for people watching!!!

I'm sure I'll be doing a lot of people watching and picture taking.

It was good for awhile. But she's had a really good life.

Oh yea, the friends that the girls swam with at Storm along? It was us! LOL! Last summer when our granddaughter Harper was visiting us on vacation.
They had a blast together!

Beaches and Cream looks so fun and ice cream is always a nice way to end a Disney meal.

She is the sweetest thing and hubby loves her, as do I. He would do ANYTHING for that girl. It is so nice to have a girl in the family.

You have some time with her, cherish that time and when it is time you will know. It will be hard but you will know you have done the right thing and given Cookie the best longest quality of life.

I am so sorry the tumor has returned...having been down a similar journey we are too familiar with the heartbreak. My prayer is that it will be very slow growing and she will be comfortable for a long time. Please give Cookie kisses from me and hugs to you and Mark.

THANK YOU, EACH AND EVERYONE OF YOU. Your warm thoughts, hugs, prayers, etc. have warmed my heart beyond measure. I would do invidiual replies, but I'm still grasping this whole thing and I cry very easily and your lovely messages keep getting me teary-eyed. I know you will understand.

Cookie slept most of last night after her ordeal at the vet. She never left my side in bed (she usually starts in one spot and then moves down to my feet; last night she put her head on my hip and didn't move until I got up at 5:30 this morning). One of my oldest friends said it best: She has had a very good and long life. When her time comes, we will know it, and she will go join Grandpa up in heaven and he can sit and pet her all day long like he did when he was with us.

First and foremost, I hope I didn't miss anyone in responses and thank you for your patience. And for those of you whose reports I am so very far behind on, please forgive me. I will try to get to a few each day while we are gone.

So, let's roll on with our Girls trip, shall we.

We are up to Day 3 which is now Sunday, June 9 (yes, Marv, I know it's not really June 9....but we are pretending here!).

This will be our Animal Kingdom Day. I LOVE the Animal Kingdom and I know Avery does too because she loves animals.

This is a day that Mary may have to explain in more detail with who is all coming. We will have Heather and her kids, and then two additional sets of friends with two kids each. Splitting up into groups will definitely be happening for some rides I am told.

We will, for sure, hit a few of these:

(I will be sitting this one out with all the little ones who can't/won't ride).

And I'm sure we will see a few of these:

We are going to try to do one show and if it is this one, perhaps one of the kids will get picked again:

We will stop for lunch somewhere...not sure where (maybe Pizzafari again). Here is Mary, Heather and I from the first girls' trip:

I am sure Avery will want to go here because of her love of animals:

And we will fit in whatever else we can. We will then go back to the pool for some down time and then go to the MK for EMH's (although I may discuss this with Mary; the last time we took the girls faded really quick at EMH's; but we do get to sleep in the next morning so it might be okay).

We'll head to the MK for EMH's and get in as many attractions as we can. A few favorites:

It will be a long day, but a fun day I am sure.


I'm glad I got this done. Andy is taking us to the airport at 6 a.m. tomorrow morning and we come home a week from Sunday (April 14). I will be posting a daily update on Facebook with a picture, I am sure.

I'm sorry to hear about Cookie. As I've said on Facebook, I do think you've made the best decision. It's the one I would have made as well. Better to let Cookie live a possibly shorter, but much better quality end of life. It reminds me of my mom, and how she stopped treatments and got to enjoy spending time with her family and friends in a nice relaxed atmosphere instead of being stuck at a hospital.
