My family and I go to DL two to three times a year. We were planning a trip to WDW in June , however we are going back to DL!! We love the magic at disneyland! Due to changes in Job, we are not going to dl for the holidays!! I just wanted to say I enjoy reading on all the post about DL. Disneyland is truly the Happiest Place on Earth!!

YAY for Disneyland!!! :cheer2:
I have always wanted to try to visit WDW, but scared that it just won't live up to the magical feeling I have at DLR! (I know how cheesy that just sounded, but we all know that feeling, right?;))
And that I will regret having wasted all that money at WDW when I could have spent less going to DLR since I live much closer!
And since I know my way around DLR I would really hate having to rely on maps in WDW!
I will admit, there are a few rides at WDW that sound pretty fun. I think I will make it there one day, and just have in my mind that this is NOT Disneyland and not to compare the two.

We were supposed to go to WDW next July but also felt like we missed DL too much and that we wanted to go there again instead. We love it like an old friend! :goodvibes

It's really hard not to compare. But WDW has a different experience for sure. Plus there is nothing like Epcot's world shocase or most of AK.

I like taking the special trips to the World every now and then.

We are Disney Fanatics and really love DL. We think WDW in its entirety is way to big. My daughter got depressed when she took the corner down to Main Street at Magic Kingdom because the castle there is sooo much bigger. She did enjoy taking her brand new camera and taking lots of pictures with it and even getting pointers from the camera guys there.

You know whats funny...when I read TR's from people that are WDW vets who visit DLR one of the first things I read is how small the castle is and they couldnt get used to it and thought it was much too small!
And DLR vets say the WDW castle is just too big! :rotfl2:
just depends what you're used to i guess!

But I do remember reading in my Walt Disney biography, he said they wanted to make Sleeping Beauty's castle at DLR scaled down as to not intimidate guests with such a large overpowering castle.

Regarding the castle...it's just really super-important to remember that the castles are for different couples. In Disneyland, that is Aurora's castle. At WDW, it's Cinderella's place. So of course they are going to be different. :)
