Let's just say I am disappointed. I thought the ONLY one that answered the last question the best was the one that ended up as second runner up! The winner's answer was nothing more than a ramble! Sheesh!

Actually, the one I thought had the worst answer was the one who was 2nd runner up. I thought both the top 2 were the most poised and touching answers, more from the heart than the 2nd runner up.

But, I think it was a good pageant this year. I wouldn't have known it was on if not for the Dis....had forgotten that it was put on cable (CMT).

I thought the talents were kind of unimpressive this year, esp. that song by one of the top 5. OMG, maybe my ears are off or something but all I could think about was what Simon Cowell would say to her. But she had incredible poise and they all do seem very classy, unspecial talent performances aside.

Are you referring to the winner, who talked about the glasses, etc? That was the one I thought did the best and she won. She was very specific and heartfelt.

ITA. I thought Miss Texas was the best in the swimsuit, way above the rest and she didn't even make the top 5.

I didn't think Denton was a very good host. The funny thing is when he was talking about past talents and said one packed her suitcase, I remember watching that as a kid.

Yes! I was trying to keep it vague until everyone had a chance to catch up. I thought it was heartfelt too--you can tell it really had an impact on her. The other two couldn't even come up with an incident. Dancing lessons? Ok, someone's led a charmed life if learning ballet was the most significant thing to ever happen!!!

Hey, I believe ballet has changed my life...

That said, both "ballerinas" (and I use the term loosely) were HORRIBLE! Their legs weren't straight, their alignment was awful, and they were doing things in very strange ways. The one who went on - and said she had been dancing since four - was worse than the other one. I cannot believe how bad they were.

DH and I watched (well, I watched and DH was in the same room playing on the computer), and when the talent portion started, I told him, "I bet there will be a ballet dancer, a singer, a pianist, and either a tapper or a twirler"- right on all counts (except the twirler)!!
